Description CONFINDMENT
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I awoke to a loud slam of some type of metallic cage door. "Wha…" I looked around to see myself within a cage. I was not the only living creature within a cage. In many cages, there was humanoid looking things that surrounded me. The only one who seemed to be fully human is myself. I tried to forcefully open the cage door, but was met with a disappointing end, and a few thousand volts of electricity to even it out.

"OWWWW!" I yelled, with a quick jump backwards, bashing my head on the top of the cage. After that…I just sat there, and cried the first of my many nights to sleep. There was everything there, from humans, to strange creatures. They look like some strange cross-breed between human and animals. I think some of them are called furries and the others are called scalies, or something like that. Some smaller then regular kittens. While some of the bigger ones where around, the combined size of at least a few of the skyscrapers in New York City.

There was one that was really cool looking. From my position, I could tell he was about 100 to 200 feet tall. He was a dragon, with jet black scales covering his body from head to toe.   His claws looked like they could shred me with just the lightest of pokes! Oh, and it kinda looked like his eyes where glowing a bit.

I spent the next few days within that cage, and my supposed hosts gave me food everyday. Crappy food, but food none the less, which was at least a clue to one thing; They wanted to keep me alive for something. For what, I really don't know, and I think I do not ever want to find out. But seeing how my luck has been turning out, I would find out soon enough.

There is one good thing about my situation I guess. I get to live a little bit longer, a little bit longer to live means more time to plan my escape. It also meant that I had more time to plan my revenge on the freak who killed my family, and turned them into sick and twisted drinks for herself.

I could even try to get some help from my roommates in the other cages. We might all be what's a different species, but you gotta admit, revenge is pretty much universal concept. Let's just hope they will be willing to turn against the creeps that locked them up in the first place, and work with a puny 5'5" six year old human kid.

But first, I gotta see if the furries speak English, that would help my cause greatly. I crawled up to the side of my cage to an average human sized chow-chow fur. I could tell he was a chow dog for one reason. He looked like my old pet dog, Rusty, But that's beside the point. He looked like he might listen to me, or at least try to listen.

"Uh…Hi there." My voice cracked bad. It sounded, weak, and scared. Funny, I looked and sounded as bad as I felt right then. But at least it got the anthro's attention. He looked up at me, and cracked a smile. His eyes held an intelligent look, not that of an animal, but that of a sentient creature.

"Yo there Kid. Surprised your talkin'. I thought they might have sliced your tongue out or somethin' sick like that. I mean shit, they did it to most of us in here." He had a strange, playful accent. He sounded like he could be from the South of Whales, kinda like that one dude from the old James Bond flicks.
I thought the accent was pretty cool, and who it was coming out of, was even cooler. But what he said, that was just sick, and how he said it was even worse. But, it did raise one question out of me.

"They cut out our tongues...why?"

That brought out a very hearty laugh from my new friend. The laugh also showed off his impressive fangs that he could probably shred a little punk like me into little bitty pieces if he really wanted to.
"Beats da heck out of me kid. Me and a few of my buds think they just enjoy bein' sick creepy little people." There was a good deal of sarcasm in that last part he said, don't really know why. But it was there.

"Great..." I groaned out as I looked towards the anthro chow and smile for the first time in a long time.
"So, one last question man. Whats your name?" I asked, a true smile was still on my face, I don't know why...I just did.

But, it did one good thing, it brought a big, bright, cheerful, and very toothy smile out of the chow. "Da name is Russel. But most people around this dump call my either Rust, or Rusty, I don't really care which one ya wanna use. Now I got two questions for ya if ya dun mind me askin'."
My body seemed to shrug on it's own when he asked. "Sure, fair is fair, right?"
Rust just grinned even more. "First off, how did you get an invite into this lovely little hell-hole, and most importantly...whatcha' name kid."

"The name is Ben, and my story...well thats kinda a long one. You sure you wanna hear me talk about that?" Rusty nodded and did something that made me chuckle a little bit. His tail started to wag, like a normal every day normal dog.

"Alright..."

As I told him my story, my lips held a true smile, but for what reason. Simple, I made a good friend, and if I'm going to survive, I think I'll need as many of those as I can get.
