Description
I have decided it is time to start working on anatomy in my art. (Using Leonardo da Vinci's studies)I know there are some errors in my drawings here... However, I used ink on these drawings, so correcting them is not an easy task. The background had some technical notes, reminding me of the corrections I should keep an eye on. I have removed them so that they would not detract from the actual drawings (there was no need for everyone to view them lol).
I must say, I am pretty pleased with how the muscles actually help to form the body. Such a simple thing that will help my future forms, knowing what muscles create which highlights or shadows. It brings my drawings to life.

It's working out pretty well so far. I picked up some books from the library. Anatomy books specifically designed for artists, they have nice large drawings of the figure. One begins with the skeletal system, moves to muscular, and then to the outter layer with skin and shows the body in different positions male and female, giving descriptive responses about the bones and muscles and how they are defined (or less defined) under the skin in certain positions.
I need to spend more time working on the studies before I can say for certain that it's working. I did do a sketch of a woman last night from another one of the books I got without any problems. Seemed to be easier already. Though, standing poses always were easier for me than sitting or laying down poses. Ahh well, back to the books I guess lol. I won't have much time today, promised to help my mother at her house .

well, working from these books and drawings will be valuable as lerning devices. if any of the books have the names of the muscles and bones in them, you may want to consider labeling the drawings. it will help cement in your mind what is what.. so then when you are looking at some other ref or a live model you will know what you are looking at.
