Sakari placed the saddle bag on the ground as she went into the house to quickly grab something, leaving the front door only a moment, but it was long enough for the little bug to get out. Cola skittered across the front porch, hopped down the steps and bolted for the saddle bag that was sitting on the ground surrounded by tokotas. Fable looked down at Cola, shaking her head at him, but not stopping him. Imniak was sitting next to the saddle bag, waiting for Sakari to return, then he spotted the movement and looked down. His eyes went wide as she saw the strange, fairly large bug like creature. Cola stopped and looked up at Imniak then skittered into the bag just before Sakari came out. It seemed that Rush also saw the strange creature and came over, sniffing the saddle bag and trying to stick her nose into the bag. "That is not for you." Sakari shook her finger at the black half mane and picked up the bag, tying it to Fable's saddle before checking the harnesses of the other tokotas. Oomailiq, Samhain and Saleen were too focused on the job ahead, coming up with some ideas on how to catch their prey as they waited for Sakari to return, and getting ready to go to notice the bug, only giving Rush a look as if to say 'Stop wasting time' though she didn't notice as she watched Sakari carry the saddle bag away.
They left the house behind, Fable leading the way for a while until Samhain and Saleen took the front with Oomailiq right behind them, following the scent trail they had picked up. They were hoping they would not have to travel as far as last time, and so they hurried to catch up to the herd before they could get too far. Imniak followed next to Fable, watching the saddle bag as he seemed to wait for the little creature to appear from under the flap. Rush was just behind them, also watching the saddle bag for the little creature. Fable was trying to keep her gate smooth as she trotted along behind Oomailiq, Sakari shooting glances at the yeti beside them as she watched her eyeing the saddle bag, worried the yeti might try and snatch the bag itself or try to nose his way into the bag. Sakari wondered what was so interesting about the saddle bag, but not stopping the group since Samhain and Saleen seemed so intent on the scent trail they were following, and Sakari did not want them to lose that scent trail. The sun rose, indicating that it was nearing noon as they rode into the valley that was reported as a good hunting place for their particular prey, mountain goats.
The group was now on alert, Imniak and Rush changed their focus from the saddle bag to the scents around them as the scent of mountain goat got stronger. Today might be a much more lucky hunt then the last as it seemed the goats were nearby and they would not have to travel too far to catch them. They slowed their pace as they tried not to make too much noise in their approach towards the herd. They hoped it was a big herd, sure it was by the strong scent they were picking up, and their suspicions were confirmed as they stopped and looked up the slope. The slope was not too steep, but trying to catch the goats from below would be no easy task. The slope was not as thick with trees and underbrush as the lower valley was, and nor was it too steep for them to climb, but without the cover and the fact that the goats were superb climbers meant that catching them from below would be a bad plan. "Let's head around and try and catch them from above, there was a trail back there that we passed that looks like it might lead to the top." Sakari whispered. "Oomailiq and Rush will stay here, the rest of us will attack from above." She waited as Oomailiq and Rush hid in the underbrush, glad that the wind was nearly still which would make moving around easier then if they had to avoid a certain direction. Sakari turned Fable around and they headed back down the trail, Imniak, Saleen and Samhain following behind them.
Their luck seemed to be picking up this hunt as the trail did lead upwards and around to the top of the slope, looking down upon the goats as they were climbing up and down the slope looking for anything to eat, nearly picking the slope clean of the scarce grass that covered it. Imniak seemed to stick to Fable side like glue, and then seemed to stick to Sakari's side when she dismounted and removed the saddle bag and the sleeping bag from Fable's saddle. Sakari placed the saddle bag behind a boulder where she was going to hide before she started to give instructions to the other four tokotas. She waited as Saleen and Samhain snuck to their places and got ready to charge down the slope, Fable stayed where she was, in between the two hiding places other others. Imniak still stuck to Sakari's side, too focused on finding out what the bug was before she would hunt the goats with the others. Before Sakari could shoo Imniak to her place Saleen leaped out of hiding and charged down the hill. Determined not to let their prey escape, Samhain and Fable were quickly forced to follow before the herd tried to run around Saleen and up the hill. The goat were in a panic, trying to run the side of the slop, but Saleen stopped them on the right and Samhain was on the left. Fable charged straight down the middle, not moving too quickly as to chase them ahead of the other two. Down below, Rush and Oomailiq waited in the bushes, watching as the herd got closer, seeing the woods below as their only way of escape from the hunters that came from above.
Sakari peaked out around the boulder as she watched, Imniak still with her. She did not notice as Cola pushed the flap of the saddle bag open and skittered out of the uncomfortable space. He skittered towards the hill, going around the other side of the boulder, though he did not go completely unnoticed. Imniak saw the little bug, and with curiosity he followed the strange creature while Sakari was distracted by the hunt. Cola watched the hunters as they chased down the goats, and he wanted to get closer to see what was going on, curious about what the tokotas and even the goats were doing. As he skittered down the slope, a goat that had escaped from the herd for a moment charged right towards him. With a squeak he jumped, only to end up having to cling to the fur of the goat for dear life. He clung to the hair on the side of the goat, not wanting to let go and tumble down the hill. She squeaked loudly as the goat tried to climb further up the hill, kicking and twisting to try and get the strange creature off. Imniak quickly followed, being higher up he was able to reach the top of the slope first.
Down below Oomailiq and Rush had made their moves, waiting until the goats were right before them before leaping out. Their panic seemed to grow and the herd was scattering frantically in all directions in search of an escape. Oomailiq and Rush were quite successful and the herd was heading in the direction of the other hunters, hoping to dodge around them and escape up the slope. Saleen wrapped her front legs around the neck of one, knocking it down before it could start climbing the slope, falling to her side and pulling the goat with her as she hit the ground. Samhain and Fable tried to herd a couple more down the hill, running one way and then the other to block them from getting up the slope. Fable's ears perked up as she heard a loud squeak from above, and she turned to see a goat bucking and kicking as it came down the slope towards them, Imniak was on its heels. On the back of the goat was a little pest that Fable knew all too well as a little trouble maker. "Cola!" Sakari was stunned as she watched the scene, realizing now why the two tokotas were so interested in her saddle bag, she had a stowaway. She moved out of hiding and started down the hill. "Do not let that goat get away!" she yelled down the hill at the hunting party. "Fable attention turned from blocking the other goats to catching the runaway goat and it's passenger. Saleen growled in annoyance and turned to help as well as Samhain. Oomailiq and Rush stayed where they were, making sure the runaway goat would not make it into the forest and escape them.
Many of the other goats scattered, running up the hill, into the trees, any direction they could to get away from the hunters and back towards the safety of the steep cliffs. Imniak continued to chase it down the hill, but he was not expecting the goat to try and come to a halt when it saw the rest of the hunters turn on it. Imniak tried to stop, but he had gained too much momentum, sliding into the goat and sending them both tumbling down the remainder of the slope. Cola went flying over the heads of Saleen, Fable and Samhain, squealing all the way down until he hit the ground, quite stunned from the fall as well as the initial scare of being carried away by the goat. Sakari was about half way down the hill and she tried to quick her decent, sliding down the slope to meet the hunting party and the little stowaway. "Cola! Are you alright?!" she yelled as she got closer. Saleen pinned down the goat before it could get up, and Samhain walked over to her and Imniak who was still laying on the ground. Oomailiq and Rush trotted over to the strange little creature now laying on the ground in front of them, looking down at him as he laid there, too shocked to move. Fable shook her head and rolled her eyes, realizing she should have made sure Sakari knew about the stowaway before something like this happened.
Sakari slid the rest of the way down the hill and ran as soon as she hit the ground. Cola was coming to and he shook himself, though still shocked. Fable met with Sakari and followed her over to the little pest as Samhain and Saleen gathered their catch. Imniak got to his feet and hurried over to see the strange little creature that had snuck into the saddle bag back at the house, and he peaked over Sakari's shoulder at the little creature on the ground. Cola had created a fear puddle on the ground beneath him, and was making little squeaks that sounded like crying. "You stupid little bug." Sakari shook her head and reached down to pick up the little Cola bug and comfort him. Fable shook her head again and went to climb back up the slope to where they left the sleeping bag and saddle bag that had been tied to her saddle. Saleen and Samhain sat down, watching the group and waiting, annoyed that the bug had ruined the hunt and was getting so much attention that was wasting their time. Imniak and Rush were looking curiously at the little bug in Sakari's arms, unsure what to make of the strange creature. Oomailiq sat back and watched the exchange, also unsure what to make of the strange creature, but also wondering about how their hunt went with the distraction. Fable returned with the saddle bag and sleeping bag hanging from her jaw, placing them down next to Sakari. "Thanks Fable." she said with a sigh. She lifted the saddle bag and laid it over Fable's shoulders, putting the little bug on one side and the rest of her smaller supplies on the other before tying the bag into place and tying the sleeping bag down as well on the back of the saddle.
"Thank you Saleen and Sam." Sakari said she walked over to them, patting them on the heads as she looked at their catch. Oomailiq followed her as Fable laid down, waiting for it being time to go, Rush and Imniak sitting down next to her. "You three make sure that little brat doesn't try and go anywhere." Sakari said, referring to Cola. "Alright, no a bad catch with all the trouble we had. We'll bring this back, maybe catch something more on our way back into town, something less troublesome and dangerous." Sakari said. She prepared their catch for moving and after wrapping them in the tarps she had brought she strapped their catch to the backs of Oomailiq, Saleen, Rush and Samhain. Fable with Sakari on her back and Imniak at her side led the way back through the forest trail, leaving the forest behind. This time Sakari made sure the saddle back was securely tied closed so they would have no more trouble on the way back home.
