Description Hey look! My photography is still around!

Sorry about the lack of it over these past weeks...the weather around my home has been pretty rubbish and also, I just haven't been anywhere interesting to shoot.

So I feel a bit relieved to be submitting a photo that I took over the Christmas holidays but was lost in the general chaos that is my computer. My nice clean desktop was not exactly clean...more or less covered with my backlog of photos to sort into folders, burn to cds etc.

Anyway...I hope you people like this. I do, even though it is just another long shadows with trees...

~

I photoshopped it a bit to bring out the colours a bit better, the actual photo was taken 26th December, 2004 at 14:19 with my Nikon Coolpix 5000.

Wow! That's really great! The shadows of the trees and the fact that it's not a clear photo, as in, it has light, but there's no sun, so it's kinda dark, but it's too light to be a dark photo, lol It's really nice! I love it Congrats! Where did you take this one ?

Thanks hun!
That was taken in...Richmond Park as i recall. Just down from the King's Mound where you can look out over Surrey and look through the trees to Saint Paul's Cathedral...know where that is?

how does the messaging system work, and what am i meant to write in keywords dude?

((your dancing blobs are really cute))

Coolness.
The messaging network as in "dAmn Chat?" well it's basically a chatroom built into a website, you need to have flash installed- if it's not check the +faq for links and stuff. That's where I work, if you want to have a go then go to #devart (linked) as it's the official deviantART channel. There's also #Thumbshare where you can put up images of your work for other people to comment on. Just check out the ~chat listings and find something that interests you.

Keywords are basically words that describe the image. So if it was a photo of a tree, you could put "tree, park, elm, photo, camera" etc. you could also put your real name and username in it, as they don't appear on the deviation page at all. It's Just make it relevant so that people using the search function can find your work.

but not that messaging system.
like mail and stuff. i get when i reply to a comment it goes.
but the (1M) stuff, what's that about? how do i clear it? lol.
i am gonna make such a fuss now!
do you have m-to the-s-to the-n?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Narfmaster In reply to brunocake [2005-11-08 21:10:11 +0000 UTC]

Oh the comments and everything. Well as I recall for non-subscribed accounts you remove messages by clicking the x next to the message.
Basically, M messages count for favourites, devwatches etc. C is comments on your work, journals, or replies to your own comments, then there's J = journals, N for notes, H for Hot topics (news articles etc.)...the list goes on.
FAQ #162: What do the letters H, M, C, HD, N, D, F, P and J relate to in my message bar?
I do...narfmaster2k2 [at] gmail [dot] com, but I'm not always on it- I tend to use Skype. Anywho it's there if you wish.

This reminds me of the movie poster for Big Fish.

I like the minimalistic approach to colours; contrasts well with the shadows. Fine stuff.

Yeah i wanted to keep it close to two colours as possible, so I edited it a bit in photoshop.

Thanks though.

Very nice.

I like the way that the shadows of the trees sort of swallow the lush greenery of the grass. And edit the skyline. Very impressive capture.
