Aaaaawesooooome! I loooove drawing wolves, but I SUCK at drawing them growling! This does help a lot! (especially the whole triangle eye thingie)

What I enjoyed most about this tutorial was not the marvelous help it gave me in drawing growling wolves but the amusement I got from "NEVER draw wolves like that" section

Thanks! This helps clear up a lot around the muzzle. And, the lower left panel needs to get sent to all the ayskxawng who design werewolves for Hollywood!

the top sketch: the last wolf has an odd ear placement. remember that the ear swivels. so it goes basically to the side then back, and should be lower when it goes back. you seem to have trouble with where the ears go. in the sketches box, you've got one ear that is way higher, then another that is apparently flat but facing outwards. The ears should either be cocked at an angle, raised like in the sketch above, or flat against their skull. not the way you have it in that sketch.
below first sketch: weird eye placement.
if you want it to focus not just on the mouth but on the wolf's demeanor, look up behavioral patterns. their ears and facial expressions play a big role in growling. the ears are rather awkward
and if you're going to draw in a style similar to 'WOLF'S RAIN' please put that somewhere.
