See anything unusual about the ladies? I’ll give you a hint. Aura isn’t a G3F and Duster isn’t a G2F. They’re both G8Fs.

Devoted Genesis 3 Female fan that I am, I still admit that Genesis 8 Female has some benefits. The primary one to me is dForce. G3F and dForce don’t like each other. There are some dForce outfits that just demand Aura and Katie squeeze into them. That means I need G8F versions of my two leading ladies.

I had a G8F version of Aura, but she didn’t live up to expectations. That version used the Victoria 7 for Victoria 8 conversion morph (which required V8 to actually be engaged as a morph). It caused some facial detail differences noticeable to me, if no one else. The conversion morph wasn’t recognized by most clothing, so her outfits didn’t fit right. Sexy Sorceress flew off her body. Forget trying dForce with her. I did, and got some nasty results.

When I upgraded Katie from V6 to V7, she lost the soft glamour, that Sasha Bonilova kittenishness, of her face. That’s always bothered me. I used an older G2 to G3 converter system for her, and it just isn’t a direct copy. Having used that converter means I can’t make a G8F version of Katie. Another conversion and she loses detail.

Well, problem solved for both. I picked up RiverSoft’s G3F to G8F Character Converter and G2F to G8F Character Converter. His clothing converters work fantastic, so why not? The promos for both looked like they made spot on copies of Victoria 6 and Victoria 7 for the Genesis 8 Female base, without needing Victoria 8 at all. Good, because V8 is darn ugly.

So, to try the converters out, I chose my most iconic V7 (Aura) and the most recognizable V6 in our community (Duster).

DANG! This Aura is a direct clone of her V7 counterpart. Using this converter, G8F thinks it’s Victoria 7. No V8 morph in use at all. The rest of the morphs are identical between the two generations, so a shaping preset of the original handled everything else. Sexy Sorceress fits Aura like it was made for her.

As for Duster, she’s a lot more accurate looking than my G3F version, which was made with the same older G2 to G3 converter I used for Katie. The discrepancies in her face are because DG uses third party G2F morphs that don’t exist in G3/8. I need to track them down and see what similar alternatives exist from Zev0 and EJ. That’s for another day, however.

In the meantime, where’s that barely there dForce loin dress?
