Description Many of you know this. Many don't. I didn't until about four months ago, when I began working on the Aura-Viona collaboration with Akizz. Man, what I put poor Viona through in those first few weeks! It's a wonder she still works with me. So, I thought I'd share what I've learned.

Part Three covers saving the morph as a morph asset.

Part Two is here:

Random question, tried this on a G2 Male tonight, for a side project. After saving the Morph Asset and clearing the scene, when I load in a new model the slider is nowhere to be found. Are there different steps for Male models?

There shouldn't be.

If you saved it as a Morph Asset, then it should be available for all G2Ms.

When you imported the morph into Morph Loader Pro, where did you tell it to load?

Actor/Male

But once I save and clear the scene, that directory doesn't appear on the new model I load.

Weird thought. Try closing DAZ and reopening. It shouldn't be required, but it may be stuck and just not see the new morph.

Still nothing.

CRAP! No, it's supposed to be there.

Okay. Try it again. If it's there, Morph Loader Pro will tell you and won't let you overwrite. If it lets you set it up under the same name, then for some reason, it didn't stick.

TrentHarlow In reply to Nathanomir [2018-04-27 00:28:26 +0000 UTC]

I've tried that already and it lets me re-load it every time. So its not sticking for some reason.

Okay. What is its deal! A morph is a morph. It's the same process for M or F, G2 or G3 or G8. Is this your first custom morph?

The materials on the original model wouldn't affect anything would they? I had applied uberbase to the skin but I didn't think surfaces affected morphs.

No. All the morph loader sees is geometry. If there were any issues with that, Morph Loader wouldn't even make the morph.

And you're using Morph Loader Pro, right? There are two morph makers right next to each other in DAZ.

So just tried it with a Gen 2 female and the slider did not stick.

What the heck is going on?

I'm not sure. I've closed and re-opened DAZ, rebooted, and it doesn't seem to stick. My only thought is that I updated DAZ to 4.10 a few weeks ago, and haven't made a slider since. Could that be the case?

Nathanomir In reply to TrentHarlow [2018-04-29 03:48:37 +0000 UTC]

Uh huh. That could be. I'm still working with 4.9, which seems a little more friendly with the most recent Win10 update.

Well shit. I don't know how to go back to 4.9.

Did you save the installer from that download? I know it was a long time ago. 4.9 was out for a year, I think, and 4.10 appeared in October or November.

TrentHarlow In reply to Nathanomir [2018-04-29 03:54:40 +0000 UTC]

Maybe. I'm trying to look up anything on 4.10 single sliders.

Correct.

Nope, I've got like, 13 already.

So, DAZ is just being cantankerous today.

Admittedly, I've never made one for a GM figure. I can try it in a bit and see if it has any extra steps, but the guide I initially followed was for a gorilla, so it shoudn't matter.

I appreciate it. I'm out for Infinity War, so I won't be able to try again until tomorrow.

Here's a question, how do I send the morph to a friend to use? Like if we're both using the same characters/morphs?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nathanomir In reply to TrentHarlow [2018-01-15 21:40:05 +0000 UTC]

Use the same OBJ file you used to make your morph. If he's on DA, upload it to Stash, and send him the link. If he isn't, email it to him. He can use the same steps you did to create it's duplicate on his end.

TrentHarlow In reply to Nathanomir [2018-01-15 21:40:57 +0000 UTC]

So when I send it to her she just needs to apply it, do the joint editor and ERC freeze?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nathanomir In reply to TrentHarlow [2018-01-15 21:59:10 +0000 UTC]

Yes. And save it as a morph asset for that figure (G2F, G3F, etc.). Just have her follow my tutorial. If she has any problems, let me know. Anything that goes wrong can be fixed, even if it requires removing the morph and starting over. Probably the most critical part is that your figure resolution and hers match.

TrentHarlow In reply to Nathanomir [2018-01-15 22:10:04 +0000 UTC]

Right on. I'm trying to figure out removing morphs as we speak. Messed up some things and trying to start over.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nathanomir In reply to TrentHarlow [2018-01-15 22:20:30 +0000 UTC]

I think I included all of it in this part.

If those steps don't work, let me know.

TrentHarlow In reply to Nathanomir [2018-01-15 22:24:11 +0000 UTC]

So if I'm reading this correctly. On a recent morph, I forgot to lengthen the feet to match the rest of the enhanced body. So, if I load a model, set the single morph slider to 100%, then increase the feet portion. I can then export that as a new morph? Or do I need to do it all from the original sculpt model?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nathanomir In reply to TrentHarlow [2018-01-15 22:27:10 +0000 UTC]

It's better to do that in the original sculpt model. I'm thinking a morph made from a morph of an OBJ may cause some detail degradation. But, you can try it and see what happens. It may be perfectly fine.

TrentHarlow In reply to Nathanomir [2018-01-16 00:00:08 +0000 UTC]

It totally worked! I loaded a base Gen 2, set the slider to 100%, tweaked the fixes, then followed the rest of the steps.
