Is it red enough for yah?! Lol.Oh man I had fun with this one.It didnt really take me as long as my other illustrations,but it was delayed pretty long due to a billion distractions.What happens when you have a life xD
I attempted to do that background that is done whenever anyone does their distortion drive.It's okay,not the best,but atleast it's not a plain background,lol.
I apologize for the signature in the middle of his face,but I've actually had morons stealing ownership of my art in the past >>;
I do not own Ragna=the=Bloodedge,he belongs to Aksys games.

But I guess my motivation,would be the influence of manga and comics,because I want to be a comic artist someday.Already have an online manga up,but I go on hiatus with it due to a billion things that distract me,mainly its personal or IRL matters.
And when it comes to fan art whether its gaming or anime characters,when it comes to a certain character I admire for their personality or their experience,I guess I want to express or show how much I really like them for whatever reason.

Yeah, that's actually very common amongst gamer artists. I'm the oddbal though, I don't do fan art, but love it all the same

Could I get a link for ur online manga? I began to draw one of my own back in the day, and though I'm not bad at all with lineart, proportions and poses I don't know the first clue about backgrounds so I stick to character design

As you will notice with the first few pages,I am going back and fixing them up,but the ones I havent revised you can tell it was a rough start,and later on I start to improve it,lol.
I probably will change it Again,but for good this time.At the start I stuck with tradtional and mixed with digital media.Basically ink then scan,and color in photoshop.But it's starting to become a hassle,so when I finish this chapter I'm doing,I'm going to go fully digital.And I hope I can improve it way more than what I'm doing now.
I took a peek at your gallery,you have some cool sketches going on ^^ Which looked like a lot,lol.I dont think I've ever had my gallery with that many characters.So you seem to have a pretty good imgination there,hehe.

Thank you. Those are a bit old though so it's a bit embarrassing, u know, not my best work and all. See, I consider my art to be a release for my overactive imagination. A lot of those for example, are characters from short stories and from my unfinished novel (microsoft word ate it, so I can't continue until I go back to the states and get me one).
Which software would you recomend for digital art? I love traditional, but coloring pencils are a drag and I'm not really good with much else, plus it's a lot easier to do backgrounds digitally, or so I hear.

Ah,I see.I'm kind of the same way myself.I do have short stories and still in the work ideas for other comics,lol.So I just use notepad since I made the mistake of not having Microsoft works on here xD Never buying Windows Media Center again,lol.
For me,I'm very familiar with Adobe Photoshop.There are tons of tutorials on DA and else where if you google on how to get started.But once you know the basics,its pretty much easy from there.There is also Open Canvas which I use for lineart drawing,since the brush or pen tool for Photoshop isnt really that comfortable at times.Then there's the Corel Painter,that one is really for extremely digital texture and flow,it almost feels like you are working with a paint brush IRL.So basically if you have a tablet,the pressure is very sensitive when it comes to color mixing.Then there's SAI,which is just like Open Canvas in a way,I heard more people use this the most instead of Open Canvas.I've been thinking about switching over to it some day,but also heard some problems when trying to get it to work or it wont recognize the tablet.
Hope that helps,everyone has a certain program they get comfortable with.I'm sure one of those will be the right one for you ^^

I need a tablet as well, the mouse just doesn't do it for me. I tried with MS paint and though lineart was horrible coloring wasn't too bad, except that I tend to use a lot of very small details and it was murder to color one pixel at a time in order to not mess it up.
I'll try photoshop for starters, like you said, tons of tutorials out here so that's a plus

Yeah,there are ways to work with the mouse when it comes to linerat.Which is the Pen tool in photoshop.I know some thats all they use for everything when it comes to lineart and coloring...but you have to have A lot of patience,lol.I never liked the pen tool,only if its for designing and stuff.
I tablet is very nice to have,you could probably find them on ebay,thats where I got my first one.Still have it too,I take it to my digital art classes.

The name in the middle falls under copyright so I understand. The back ground is good try to put the black beast next time. The hair was done nicely good match with original. Course the half middle cut middle is awesome and the red side with the dark side go good.

Oh I've been busy actually.The fall semseter is already kicking into gear,lol.Been doing reading for class and about to get started on writing an essay,ugh.So yeah,I had to get this finished as soon as possible because once assignments and papers start rolling in,I rarely have time to do anymore drawings.
