Description
A personal illustration of what the first chapter of the story of Alice in Wonderland brings to mind. The first chapter title is Down the Rabbit Hole, so hence my picture's title.Original, huh?
Oh, and no Disney references allowed.
This is a mixed-media work.
I drew and colored the rabbit via my own Wacom Intuos 4 tablet, and school's Wacom Cintiq tablet; this includes his pocket-watch (in paw) and waist jacket.
The hole was a mixture of a black oval, colors, with brushes (about twenty-five separate layers combined) and smudging.
I took stock for the jar (drink me!) and the box (eat me!) and the golden key that opens the world of Wonderland for Alice - which she inadvertently left on the table, after taking the potion to shrink down to a size to be able to go through the door.
This was fun, though I do wonder what was going through Lewis Carrol's head when he was writing the story. Was it just him, or was it him on drugs? I know the latter is probably just a vicious rumor... I shouldn't propagate it, especially if it's not true.
Either way, it is a classic, I should finish the book - have it in my library, and am planning on getting to it!
The details:
~ Spiral Brushes
~ Box
~ Jar
~ Clock without Hands
~ Glitter Brushes
~ Key
~ Hedge Background
Due to the fact that I did the artwork for the rabbit and his accessories, that prolonged the time it took on this project.
About 10 to 12 hours with Photoshop CS5, helped by the Wacom tablets Cintiq (school) and Intuos 4 (my own).
... I was thinking of putting a fur texture on the rabbit, but decided against it at the last moment. I still think Mr. Rabbit looks pretty good.

Haha cool. Yes, quite likely Dodgeson was on drugs, although that's not at all a vicious rumour. Thanks for the stock credit, too!

I forget if I linked you or not. I have to send out the notes with the people who's stock I used. I'm always late. If I did, great; if not, please accept my apologies, it's not that I was trying to keep anything from you. I don't know why, but uploading work is such a chore - especially since I like to give a good description and if there are people to thank... It just seems like a lot.

I just saw (at WalMart) seasons one and two packaged together. There are four seasons, maybe five. I think season one is the best, it's the one I remember the most. Season Two's package also has the Christmas episode (the one with the girl in the hospital and the man who tries to commit suicide), as well as one or two episodes of the cartoon.

It was definitely one of the funniest shows around, from ALF wearing Kate's negligees to cooking fish in the toaster, and he was always such a wise guy! Ya gotta love him!

He reminds me of the Ancient Egyptian god Set, to a large degree... Well, he's got the snout, but also his personality is how I've experienced the lighter side of this god. Alf = total chaos, which is ascribed to Set a lot of the time.
Yeah, one does have to love Alf! I don't think anyone who really watched the show, who really got to see Alf's character couldn't love him. There's probably someone out there who doesn't, but... Well, I don't understand that. Except Alf's penchant for being a pain in the a**, which is not 100% on purpose.

Awesome. Though I think it could use something in the green part...I'm not sure what though. Perhaps like you've done with the Rabbit Hole?

Actually, my plan it to cut it out - the green is really just going to be a border of sorts. It will be a circle picture on a foam board (white) or cardboard (black) mount.
Thank you for the comment. It's really appreciated, and it's honored too. I'm glad more people seem to find my art appealing.

I actually took your advice and put a background of a hedge foliage with the green to brighten it up. Take a look! Again, thank you!
