Description Another recently finished and long overdue commission (thank the Goddess, I'm now only one pair of paws away from being done with all the long overdue commissions!)

This set belongs to the mate of ~XxSabrinaxX - [link] - who's fursona is a black tiger with lime green stripes.

This was a fun commission for me as I'm a fan of unusually colored furries, love tigers, and because I finally got a chance to try doing a tiger tail without pre-patterned fur. And I'm really happy with how it turned out.

The tail is my usual feline sort; about two and a half feet in length with elastic belt loops. All the stripes were handsewn and the tail tip is nice and fluffy. ^_^

The ears were something else new for me. Instead of putting them on a headband, the commissioner asked for an earhat. And so, as I presently lack the know-how to make earhats, I hunted down a black ski beanie and sewed the ears into that.

Links to pics of the backs of the ears and of the earhat being worn are here - [link]

Where did you get faux fur that color?

The black and the lime green were both ordered from [link] but if you are wondering about how I acquired black fur with green stripes... I had to handsew in the stripes of green myself. Though very rare to find high quality fur, you can occasionally find lower quality faux fur in patterns like this. But it can be very hit or miss to find, ESPECIALLY high quality stuff.

Do you think it is possible to sew one in just a plain striped pattern, or did you sew the tiger stripes in after sewing the tail?

Depends on your preferences really. I went for a more realistic tiger striping for this tail, rather than just plain rings (like the tail made for this suit [please note, I didn't make this] - [link] ). Ringed stripes, like in the link, would probably have been far easier to do. However, I did sew the stripes in first before completely sewing the tail together. I find that to be the easier way to do it personally. Trying to sew stripes into a finished tail can be quite the challenge and I wouldn't really recommend it.
