The son of the Society Sovereign, Izanami and the previous Pirate King, Izanagi, he is the stepson of Duff D. Jonah. Not wanting to be under his thumb, Susanoo left the Abyssal Line where he would venture into the Grand Line where he met the love of his life, Kozuki Kushinadahime. He slew the corrupt shogun who killed the righteous one, taking his Devil Fruit- the Snake-Snake: Yamata No Orochi as a trophy of his victory- consuming it and gaining its power. One of his more questionable actions was robbing the Oni of their homeland- casting them to Vodka Kingdom for centuries, and isolating Wano from the rest of the world. His corpse guarded the Grand Line gateway to Hell in order to keep Jonah from entering- which ceased to be when Orochi foolishly desecrated Susanoo's corpse out of spite for the Kozuki clan.

Susanoo was brave, proud and fierce. He was deeply loyal to his mother and was very saddened when she took Jonah over Izanagi- not knowing the full story of Izanagi's treachery with Imu. He would be brash, headstrong, and often rushed into danger due to feeling a sense of excitement for adventure. Meeting Kushinadahime changed him, realizing the importance of the Dawn of the World. He wasn't perfect- his bigotry towards the Oni, caused him to cast them out of their homeland just because they ruined the scenery and kept Wano an isolated nation. That said, he never stooped as low as being a World Noble sycophant. He had an ambivalent relationship with his other siblings. His unique laugh was Susususususu.

He had Rulers Observation/Armament/Conquerors/Realm Haki, Gas/Fire/Ocean/Lightning/Water/Ice/Wind/Floral/Earth/Chaos Nature Haki, Passionate Justice Haki, Injustice Haki, Sorcery Haki, Mana Mastery, and Crazy Haki.

He ate the Cloud-Cloud Vegetable- which allows him to become cloud to avoid conventional attacks. Applications include cloud constructs, cloud telekinesis, cloud-based flight, cloud solidification, cloud clones, cloud teleportation, cloud healing/regeneration, fog generation, smoke screen, thundercloud creation, raincloud creation, snow cloud creation, and his Awakening allows him to use nebulas- cosmic clouds capable of using stardust and cosmic lightning attacks. He also ate the Devil Fruit of the corrupt shogun he slew, the Snake-Snake Orochi Fruit. In the hands of a future corrupt shogun- Kurozumi Orochi, it just had the power of extra lives via heads. In the hands of a proper user like Susanoo, it granted him powers such as landmass mimicry, supernatural physical traits, plant generation, tree generation, regeneration, extra lives via heads- which can restore themselves to have more chances of life- though at the cost of shortened life span, fire breathing, lightning manipulation, and poison generation.

His innate powers include supernatural swordsmanship/archery, agriculture intuition, plant generation, ocean manipulation, sky manipulation, storm manipulation, winter manipulation, and underworld guardianship.
