well, how much do you know about costuming? what part do you want to start on first?

Definatly the coat. What kind of materials did you use to make the shoulder pads, belts, etc.?

i used vegetable tanned leather for all of the armor and belts. most were hand dyed myself.
as for the coat, i used a heavier cotton, then also lined it. get a decent quality fabric and lots of it so it drapes properly.

Okay, okay. Now what about the clothes underneath, the boots, and the neckband? And the sword, especially?

the "clothes" underneather the kimono is actually a full chest armor made from leather. the pants we made from twill that i sewed piping into.
the sword is made from poplar wood that i cut with a jigsaw then sanded for the edge. one that was done sculpted the design on then covered all of that with a coat of fiberglass. the actual wood for the blade continues through the handle which i then covered in leather than wrapped kitana style.
the boots were a base pair i got online then added pieces too. all the pieces were made from vegetabled leather which i stamped the details on, some hand dyed, while others i painted.

poplar. ts a bit heavier, and a little harder to work with BUT its way more durable and the final product looks much better in my opinion!
if any part does give you difficulty, i am availible for commision. im not cheap, but i will make the parts as nice as mine!

ts actually more vegetable tanned leather covered in fabric. it actually snaps on to the armor so it stays in place perfectly. its a little tricky to patern, but easy construction. for the belts on it i used pig skin leather and suede, its really thin but has a natural warmth to it.
