Woah, that looks hard to do... THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID (Sorry had to get that out) The writing was hard to read, but man that does look fun to tinker with.

If you have photoshop, you should be able to do arts for animation in there as well (you can check videos about that in youtube)

Yesh I did! I will ask you if I do have questions, thanks!

But I am curious, what do you use to blend colors? Do you use the blur?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nei-Ning In reply to Mforever12 [2011-11-16 01:18:52 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I do use blur tool (to me it's easiest and funniest way to blend colors)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mforever12 In reply to Nei-Ning [2011-11-16 01:21:30 +0000 UTC]

XD I use it too, don't worry!

I actually have colored a few things with PTS...here's one(and my best one I think...): [link]
You think I do good with coloring? I really want someone who's good at coloring in PTS to give me there opinion

Nei-Ning In reply to Mforever12 [2011-11-16 01:24:21 +0000 UTC]

*first reaction to your art* -> *HUGE LONG GASP with long* "OOOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!" 8D That is AMAZING! You have done the coloring MUCH better than I did with my first art what I colored in PTS! You have just outdone yourself! That is beautiful, gorgeous, stunning... MIND BLOWING!

Just keep coloring and you will become ass kicker!

OHmiGOSH really!? Well it was a line-art...and I like coloring line-arts. I have like 3 other ones, but that one was the best That was my 3rd attempt I think. My first one was Piccolo

Thanks so much, girl! I feel so loved now

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nei-Ning In reply to Mforever12 [2011-11-16 01:31:20 +0000 UTC]

Yes, really! That's great way to learn to color better! I started to learn to color by coloring other DA members arts with their permission and then I started to try to color my own arts and that way the wheels started to roll

Keep going on, sweety, and you will become awesome (Though, you are awesome already)

Mforever12 In reply to Nei-Ning [2011-11-16 01:35:17 +0000 UTC]

Daw You are so sweet. You're arts awesome too, I see all the practice came in handy! I actually am coloring one of my own arts right now and have only colored one other one of mine...if that just made sense XD

I honestly was surprised when I first colored Piccolo...I was freaking out like "OHMIGOSH, did I do this!?" XD And I realized I did and kept doing it because it's fun I have like 3 in progress right now...

You are just so nice...and you're awesome too! Don't worry (if you were...XD)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nei-Ning In reply to Mforever12 [2011-11-16 01:38:25 +0000 UTC]

Awh, you are too Hahah, no worries! It made sense to me perfectly I can say that with PTS I have improve a lot and fast so you will too!

That's very nice thing about PTS ~ You get a hang of it fast and the result looks amazing. But I'm happy that you are so eager to color so many arts

I try my best to be nice to all peoples

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mforever12 In reply to Nei-Ning [2011-11-16 01:45:29 +0000 UTC]

Yea that is a nice part about it! Easy to use, and fun to use...with a great result at the end You are just so shweet. I don't think you'd have a hard time being nice, it probably just comes naturally XD
But I love how you color too, so I mean...you're just as awesome at coloring (psh, so full of myself XD)

But I'm curious...how did you teach yourself to draw so awesomely!? I really want to know! I ask like everyone this...I need tips XD

Nei-Ning In reply to Mforever12 [2011-11-16 01:57:50 +0000 UTC]

PTS is the best program to work with Haha, well I try my best to be nice to all and it comes naturally but even I have my limits of being nice awh, thank you ~ It always makes me in a good mood when someone says something good about my arts ^^

I have use a lot of references (like when DBZ came from TV in 2003 and I didn't have computer then, I recorded the episode and when I was watching it, I paused the tape and drew on my paper, taking the reference from the episode ) and when I got computer, I looked references in the internet and then I just have been teaching myself by drawing and learning myself

Mforever12 In reply to Nei-Ning [2011-11-16 02:00:22 +0000 UTC]

Aw I'm glad it does! You're definitely welcome too! XD

Well, pshh, you make it sound easy! XD That's so cool...I use references a lot too... but I guess that is the best way to learn...and practice *sigh* ...practice XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nei-Ning In reply to Mforever12 [2011-11-16 02:07:03 +0000 UTC]

Like wise

Hahah, well it has it plus and minus sides xD Using references is the best way to learn (I think and so does most of the peoples). Though, sometimes I wonder how good I now would be if I would have start to draw seriously when I was a child (I did draw a lot but it wasn't so serious to me back then) only in 2003 I started to draw seriously. Maybe I now would be as good as my big sister. (She has been drawing "seriously" since then when she was 3 years old and she's now 28 so... xD)

Mforever12 In reply to Nei-Ning [2011-11-16 02:23:29 +0000 UTC]

DANG! What's that...25 years!? She must be awesome!
Well I'd say no worries for you, you must've improved a lot because your art is AWESOME! I'm still improving today...well trying to I started drawing again last year probably, when I was 13 and now it's been a year so I'm 14 and drawing still...and I think I've improved a lot!

I use references too though, and they are helpful. I just can't get the bodies and those DANG hands right!!! DX

Nei-Ning In reply to Mforever12 [2011-11-16 02:30:00 +0000 UTC]

~AthaMaarit is my sister and you can see some of her arts in here I have improve yes, but there's always a room to improve yourself even more And that's what I'm going to do!

I was... 17 when I started to draw seriously and now I'm 25 so I have been "practicing" 8 years... 8 years!! It feels that I would have spend more than 8 years with it T_T

Oh, I know! Hands and feet are the ones what's killing me >.<

Mforever12 In reply to Nei-Ning [2011-11-16 02:33:14 +0000 UTC]

Yesh I saw...she's very talented! I loved it

For me, there's probably a lot of improvement to be made...I just wish I could get all that improvement done! XD Yesh, everyone does need improvement, but there's people like you, *Wario-Girl , ~The-Dark-Fallen , =Fantasiia , etc. that really, I think, are just fine with how you draw I personally love it

Nei-Ning In reply to Mforever12 [2011-11-16 02:38:53 +0000 UTC]

Like we all Even my sister says that she has a lot of things what she needs to improve. We artists are never satisfy with our arts and we always find something to improve.

awh, thanks I love the way how I draw as well, but I want to get better and I want to get better fast (what I know won't happen. Improving will take time)

I don't think she does! But whatever floats her boat, I suppose.

Your welcome, too! I think we all wanna get better fast XD

Nei-Ning In reply to Mforever12 [2011-11-16 20:59:15 +0000 UTC]

Haha, true! We artists do want to get better (no matter even if we would be some elite artists already) but we still want to get better xD

GaramondBodoni [2011-11-14 02:01:57 +0000 UTC]

so when we save the file, if we want animation do we save it as a .sai file? Also, how do we determine the amount of time per frame and between frames? Thanks!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nei-Ning In reply to GaramondBodoni [2011-11-14 02:55:18 +0000 UTC]

I always save the pics in PNG form because they are not so "heavy" and take so much memory from the computer. You save those pics in sai. form then if are tired and can't finish the animation in one day. When you save it in Sai form and you open the pic in the next day, sai will automatically open all the layers and the pics there and how you have left them In your other questing you will find answer in my other tutorial
