It's Fizzy! My wild Runeboo character!Just wanted to try painting Fizzy in this cool scene I took a picture of with my phone the other day. I tried to paint it and get the colors right for the Runeboo-- it could probably be better, but I think it blended in decently.
I need to take more time for random arts like this more often haha.
Time: about an hour

Like I said I based it heavily off a photo I took, so I had a lot of aid there! But just a blurry brush splattered all over for the leaves, haha.

I guess references really do help a lot, I should really keep that in mind. I kinda feel a little bit ashamed whenever I use references, I think I'm just overthinking things... l'D and blurry brush... gotcha. Thanks for the tip, Nes! Leaves are just super hard to draw if you do them one by one.

When I first glanced at the thumbnail, I honestly thought the background was a picture taken with a camera. The colours (I just love the dominant warm hues of yellow, orange, and red paired with the purple shading, it's such a pretty combination), shading, and leaves are simply fantastic, and I like the small details in the background, like the sailboat and what I think are the silhouettes of something, but I can't quite tell what.
I also think its kind of cool that the grass looks like a toned down greenish colour, yet it's actually brown and orange . It's crazy how other colours can influence each other's appearance.
And Fizzy is simply adorable, I haven't seen too many other wild runeboo characters.

And I KNOW RIGHT? Colors are freaking MAGIC man. Pure and real straight up magic. They create illusions and trick our eye just by being next to eachother in different ways. It's fascinating to learn about color theory!

It looks great to me! I especially like the subsurface scattering on his tail, makes me wonder how much of a runeboo is translucent to light since I don't think they have skeletons, heh.

This is all-round gorgeous, but I especially love the way the sun blocks out some of the branch like it would appear to the eye. Also the textures of the leaves are making me extremely happy XD
