Description Lock Down
Chapter 7 - Aftermath
Written By: Netaro (Frankie J)
------------------------------

The police came and helped Brendan, Julie, and Miss Lance up. All the men were gathered and arrested. The boss was destroyed in the obliteration. Traces of blood were splattered upon the floor and the walls, almost in a mist form. The police found the record of the men who raided the school in the printer. They were all expelled from that school many years ago for making unnecessary threats towards their teachers and the staff.

Police have successfully identified the terrorists: Alex Reynolds, age 22 and guard between the 300 building and the girl's locker room; Rex Dylan, age 21 red-haired guard for the area near the guidance, the attendance window and the sophomore lockers located against the window of the library; Larry Wiles, age 21 and guard between the lunch tables and the 100 building; Peter French, age 22 and bomb expert with black hair who set up the bomb in the Main Gym and the baseball field; and Taylor Hans, age 22 and the boss of the terrorists that took over PM system.

The Bomb Squad has arrived to examine the truck for the other bombs and the bomb in the baseball field. Police investigations have discovered that Reynolds, Dylan, Wiles, French, and Hans' motive for causing terrorism at Lakewood was to express their hatred for society. Evidence and information from their old teachers explains their insecurities and anger. The five have been friends after discovering they had something in common: their need to destroy society. They all have gone through psychiatric help and practically faking remorse to try to be released from all this help early. Wiles and French have had a history with antidepressants, which might have had a rather negative side-effect.

Cameras around the school's campus recorded most of the events at their specific time. Interviewing Bridget, Cara, Matt, Brendan, Julie, Ray, Jordan, Justin, and a couple of other students that were involved in the videos recorded, the police have pieced together events and have come up with a fairly accurate story:

The five men arrived at he school at approximately 10:12AM and started gathering their explosive equipment from the back of their truck. Apparently, there was supposed to be bombs planted in all the buildings, the gymnasium, and the football field. Police found a cellular phone in their truck and listened to it's recent voice message that seemed to be recorded an hour before. The message explained that there was supposed to be a bomb set up in the baseball field and was to detonate at 10:01AM. The detonation obviously failed, for no bomb exploded at all.

Jack Davis was the first victim to be shot at approximately 10:14AM. Witnesses ran into the school's office and a lockdown announcement was alerted through the PM system at 10:15AM. Reynolds, Dylan, Wiles, French, and Hans entered the school's campus and split up at approximately 10:17AM. Ray was injured by Reynolds at 10:19AM and the next campus supervisor (Pete Simmons) to go down was at 10:20AM, while trying to warn Jordan. Reynolds and Dylan raced to the office in worry about their boss. Hans, the boss, killed a staff member (whom has just answered the phone call from Sheldon) by strangling her and made his threatening announcement on the PM system at 10:22AM, and was knocked out unconscious by Justin and making his announcement at 10:23AM.

Matt unlocked the library door for Justin at 10:24AM. At the same time, French left the gym after seeing a young girl enter the food service kitchen. Wiles was chasing a girl down, but lost her. Wiles then decided to use the girl's restroom, where he was threatened by Bridgett. Brendan acquired a golf cart at 10:23AM and picked up Cara and Bridget in front of the 300 building. Jordan was giving first aide to his friend Ray in the Nurse's office at 10:24AM. Dylan and Reynolds split up; Reynolds shot a female student while entering the guidance office through the attendance office and Dylan tried helping Hans out. Distracted by the students running outside, he abandoned Hans and exited the office at 10:25AM.

Matt noticed Reynolds wandering around in the guidance office at 10:26AM. At the same time, Brendan, Cara, and Bridgett entered the guidance office. Matt warned the three to duck, and Jordan popped out of the nurse's office and knocked out Reynolds from behind at approximately 10:27AM. Jordan and Ray escaped into Mr. Jacob's classroom into safety. Brendan ran towards the PM system as Cara and Bridgett tag along with Matt.

Julie was in the theatre with campus supervisor, Kimberly Lance. French recovered angrily from the food service kitchen and entered the 100 building at 10:31AM. Passing Brendan, Matt, Cara, and Bridgett exited the double doors of the office, finding David Colette's body next to the flagpole. An autopsy reveals that David has been dead since 10:21AM. Meanwhile, Justin printed out some information in the library. At 10:34AM, student Brittany Douglas struggles to enter the library.

Brendan made his announcement about the location of the bomb at 10:30AM. Mistaking Brendan for Justin, Hans slammed Brendan onto the floor. Brendan kicked Hans in the face and exited the office at approximately 10:34AM. Matt, Cara, and Bridgett took down Wiles at 10:33AM and found safety in Mr. Harrison's classroom at the same time. Julie and Miss Lance entered into Mr. Sauer's classroom located in the 400 building.

Justin took down French in the library using the syringes he stole from the Nurse's office before knocking out Hans. Taking Douglas along, Justin exited the library and entered Mrs. Sampson's classroom at approximately 10:36AM. Meanwhile, Brendan and Hans raced towards the main gymnasium. Julie left to try to help Brendan and arrived at the gymnasium at 10:37AM. Dylan was taken down by a bunch of students in the quad area. Taking the gun, Miss Lance headed to aide the young couple.

Police arrived on campus at 10:38AM, the same time Hans activated the bomb and Miss Lance discreetly entered the gymnasium. After a few quick actions, Hans was defeated and Miss Lance was injured. The bomb detonated at approximately 10:41AM.

At 12:59PM, Principal George Taylor made an announcement on the PM system about the main events that had happened. The students will be temporary be studying at Ridge Canyon High School, about 9 miles from Lakewood, until further notice. Many injured people, including Miss Lance, were sent to the nearest hospital immediately. 5 staff members and teachers have been killed along with 6 students. A total of 26 students, teachers, and staff have been injured, each having their own little stories to tell.

A week after the massacre, the students have returned to continue their education at Lakewood High School. The school was rather eerie-looking after a week of absence. Repairs for the main gymnasium has been planned out and were currently in being done before, during, and after school hours. Plans to create a memorial have approved and will be in progress the following week. A list of names of the deceased will be engraved onto the memorial.

Cara and Bridgett have befriended Matt after helping them to escape. Both Bridget and Matt attended David Colette's funeral. Jordan and Ray's friendship grew stronger as they realized that they both can depend on each other. Justin has become less destructive and more responsible for himself, although he didn't confess to the vandalism he committed in the auxiliary gym. Brittany Douglas thanked him for saving her life, and befriended each other. As for Brendan and Julie, they stayed together and their love became stronger.

In the school's office, a newspaper article about the Lakewood massacre has been framed and placed on the wall. Next to the article was a plaque with the names of the people who helped investigators come up with an accurate story to file. Along with the plaque, there is a photograph of all the people involved. In the front of the group picture, the eight heroes stand noticeable, having that emotional gaze written conspicuously within the glare of their eyes.
