Description
Following No Man's Sky and beating Sine Mora got me in the mood for a sci-fi piece. Made mostly in Procreate, apart from the ships, which were made in Adobe Draw before getting their jet streams added in Autodesk Sketchbook. Struggled with the design of the ships for a week. Nothing really felt right. Someone suggested a mix of X-Wing and Last Starfighter, which was a good idea in that originally I wanted a more traditional sort of rocket launch. Finally, while looking up shooters (Sine Mora) I remembered one of my favorites: Strikers 1945, one of the rare third-party Neo Geo titles. My craft of choice was the flying pancake, hence the wide, flat shape.
