I spent best part of an hour approaching this little egret after someone scared it 1/4 of a mile down the river to the sea outlet at Keyhaven.I finally managed to get close enough to fill the frame and I laid in a shed load of mud to get this. It was preening itself somthing stupid and I got so many shots.
This was one of my favorites - The egret rousing.

Fantastic shot, this is one of my fav birds I have spent hours of the years watching them at Hayle estuary yet never been able to get close enough for a good shot, and when I do they leg it lol. all credit to you mate.

Beautiful shot; colours lighting and composition. But i do think the reflection of the bird in the background is a little distracting.

yeah that bloody seagulls wound me up somthing stupid. The sodding thing just would NOT MOVE! every time the egret moved, the bloody gull shadowed it.

Boy, did it ever pay off for your patience. the lighting and colors are outstanding, and as always, knock out composition! I'm glad we have somebody like you to lay in the mud to get shots like this!

yeah its quite rewarding when it pays off. I got some pin sharp shots of it in flight as well that i'll put up laters
