Description My Little Mario

As if Friendship Is Magic needed another crossover, here's another one. If you are wondering why they don't have cutie marks, let's just say I subscribe to the "one-flank" theory and the marks are on the other. (Also, what would they be? A wrench? A mushroom? A raccoon costume?)

Goomba-kicking is still the best.

Not mine!

There Cutie Marks should be what power they possess (like Fire Mario his cutie mark should be a Fire Flower etc.)

I like you you made their tails to match their mustaches. Nice touch!

Anyway, as far as Cutie Marks go, I think Mario could do better than just a Power Star or a Starman on his flank. In all of his games (when played well), he's an unstoppable force. Once his goal is set, anything that gets in his way is cast aside in ruin.
The Rainbow Star power-up from the Mario Galaxy 2 captures this the best because, though he may be slow to start, nothing in the universe can stop him.

Luigi, on the other hoof, is a lot harder to pin down: he's bad at a few memorable things; he's good at many things most don't notice; he's great at helping Mario out on adventures; he's terrible at keeping his nerves in check; he's can always be counted on to lend a helping hand; but every iteration, every new game shows him in a slightly different light.
While it's true that he used the Poltergust 3000 to great effect to save his brother; it was simply a tool, the means to an end. He didn't even enjoy wielding it all that much, and it was obviously straining on him. One's "special talent" is usually something that one does exceedingly well, and that, to others, appears to require little-to-no effort as well. Not to mention that if Luigi were to find out that all he would ever be good at was catching Boos and other ghosts, it would crush him.
No, Luigi's special talent has got to be something else. It was said in Super Paper Mario that his "destiny" was to merge with the Chaos Heart, and while his depiction has been all over the place throughout all his different roles leaving him no stranger to chaos, there was always one thing he consistently showed.
Devotion.
He may run, he might hide, he'll possibly even spaz out a time or three, he'll likely trip over his own feet at least once, but he'll never give up on those whom he loves and cares about. He needs a Cutie Mark that reflects that. I'm not sure what it would be, though.

Maybe a 1UP mushroom?  Would that work?

That...actually works very well, now that I think about it.
1-Up Mushrooms run away, they hide themselves in hard to reach places, in recent games, they can even be seen by some as superfluous, just a tired mechanic that's more irrelevant than not.
But if you're lucky enough to have one with you, you can always count on it to save you when you're in a bind.
That fits Luigi to a T in my humble opinion. Excellent choice!

Why didn't I think of that for Luigi? Glad we're on the same page for Mario's cutie mark, though!

What about a starman for Mario and a shy (covering its face) boo with a don't sign on it for Luigi?

Love how its M&L style!

Since it is M&L style why not have Mario's CM a fire ball, and Luigi's a blue thunder bolt.
