America, America, land of the free:America, your soul is tainted.
America, from sea to shiny sea
your crimes are perpetuated.
America: where dreams flee
your morals filled with hypocrisy.
all these crimes for a bucket of dimes,
all that sin and everlastin' egotrippin'.
And you wonder why your name is infame.
And you wonder why people call out,
everywhere, like nuclear fall out
America, you give us destruction and distraction
ever keen on your own freaked-out action
of malfunction, disruption and corruption
America, you give us despair
but i dare
to speak aloud, be proud
America, i ask you be true
America, don't make me hate you

Just because I'm an American doesn't mean I can't appreciate a good poem! Heh. I enjoy seeing some one make a point without just ranting or cussing or putting a bunch of angry words down. What is art for but to allow you to put up a mirror to reality? Bonus points for your choice of structure in using the anthem!

heh i know that even some americans can enjoy a good poem 
why did i comment it that way then? well, because i put the first part of this poem on a forum i visit. nothing special, but i had some angry remarks because of it. i must admit that this final version is a bit milder because of the ending but i decided to anticipate on possible angry patriotic remarks.
