Description
This is my tribute to Michael Whelan, who is possibly one of the best artists on the planet. The background for this piece was shamelessly inspired by Whelan's rendering of "Moreta: Dragonlady of Pern", which you can see gracing the cover of Anne's McCaffrey's novel. I wanted a very Eastern feel to this piece, hence the Asian-Indian influences.Medium: oils on illustration board.

Such beautiful colors and nice swirl to the sparkles in the image. It freams her just enough but not overly so. It reminds me so much of a deep colored sunset.
