This is the Prime universe version of 's Supernova Class starship set in the TOS Era.

Built about 5 years after the USS Enterprise, the Supernova class starship was built with four nacelles. It was also the first one to be equipped with both forward facing, and backwards facing torpedo launchers, meaning it could defend itself from the back, as well as the front. The rear torpedo launcher is located in the back of the ship's neck, while the forward facing launcher is mounted in the nose of the saucer section. This feature, of having both forward and rear facing torpedo launchers would later, in the 24th century, become a standard feature on the Galaxy class, which means, the Supernova class is the unofficial prototype for the Galaxy class.
