I think you did a remarkable job on her here One question, are the clothes supposed to be shiny like that? Looks good though!

Thanks!
Good question. I left the settings that way after the first time I had set up the package a while back. I kind of liked the effect. Certainly, for the angle of the lighting, it could have been toned down a little.

lol, thought I'd ask, it's what some so-called DS mats look like (looking through settings, looks the same as Poser mats except worse, so I can tell if they're made through experience, no experience/blind folded, or no good so called "ds" shader scripts). Hate 'em. Hate 'em all! The first thing I do when I load clothes & mats is go to surface settings and correct them lol. Yea, us DS users get no break in that area in anything... clothes, hair, characters, etc. Thats why I make DS mats for vendors.
BTW which program did you render this in?

LOL...I have a character whom, when I first rendered with her, had her settings set in a similar fashion. She renders, out of the box as it were, looking like a wax statue. Really glossy. At first, I thought that this didn't look so good, but when I "reflected" (LOL..a pun!) upon it, I actually liked it.
I use DAZ Studio 3. I thought about Poser, since CP is running a sale on Poser 7 right now, but in the grand scheme of things, I think if I took more time and tried learning more of the features in DAZ, I could...COULD...produce far better than what I am producing now.

That's why I basically stuck to one program. Trying to learn two at a time can slow you down in producing great images. Heck, look where I'm at now

Thanks! The lighting really made this image work.

I remember doing a render with her a while back and the lighting worked well on that image. I adjusted some to illuminate her face for this image.
I don't have time to do a lot of research and reading. I certainly need to get smarter with lighting, and shaders, and many other things.

LOL, thanks! The saying is a derivative of a more modern statement made by Admiral Dewey; there weren't too many pirate sayings which I thought would have fit the character.
