Cool news! My redesign of Spyroβs nemesis Ripto is out in the wild and I can share a little more Spyro work with you good folks
I was super honored to get to take a swing at this little orange jerk.The overall cast of the Spyro trilogy was such a creative and wild collection of ideas- translating their playful energy to something with a lot more polygons was a really fun, and occasionally quite challenging, exercise. Ripto was a breeze though- whatβs not to love about a villainous Dino with a natty coat?

You know now after I've started playing Reignited Trilogy and occasionally come back to watch these concept arts, I've started to think that you might have more than just a power of being a good artist...
Like, I've seen the fandom go crazy in love with these new character designs!
And considering Ripto is just a very small angry man, with a horn sticking right up from his head, and you managed to actually make a character like that very pleasing to the eye, and make fangirls go nuts... And let's not even talk about the elder dragons!
You are a scary, powerful man, mister nicholas, and I don't know if it's safe to let you do this to our community anymore.

Spyro was my childhood, and Ripto was my favorite character !

i love the slit eye approach to him, actually gives him a bit more character imo (coming from someone who never played any of the spyro games

I so appreciate the look you gave Ripto, he looks so much more sinister and unique now. The bit of scarring on his lip was a neat addition.

Wait wait wait - you helped on the game??? Dude, hella props for that!!! Iβve seen some clips. Iβm glad that itβs getting remastered - Iβve been trying to get my PS2 fixed so I canβt play Riptoβs Rage and Year Of The Dragon again (I donβt have the first game - and unfortunately wonβt be able to play the Reignited Trilogy since I cant afford a console for it). Iβm really hoping a YouTuber I watch will play it; anyways, this looks great!! I think you really captured Riptoβs character in that look.

I owned a copy of Ripto's Rage when I was younger for my PS1. He's one of my favorite Spyro villains. This looks magnificent.

I don't care about steelbooks as extras but I'd dig if the concept art would be either an unlockable in-game or if there would be a Reignited Trilogy artbook go on sale. I'd by that in an instant. That alongside with a music album of the soundtrack would make the best collectors edition for me. Very nice art. X3

LOL I just kinda shrugged it off, but was weirded out that they got off on that shit LOL I mean I find it freaking HILARIOUS if a character throws up in certain situations... some of my favorite childhood stories were inopportune times that I threw up as a kid... like when everybody at my mom's church gave me a doughnut, or the time I hate an entire basket full of Easter candy or the time my mom flipped her shit because I ate a red crayon as a kid and she thought I was bleeding into my stomach! xD
