I joined a cartooning class for high school my senior year. We had to find a picture in a magazine and place some transfer paper over it and exaggerate the features. Then cross hatch to shade. I really didn't exaggerate very much on this one at all sadly... I think the model made enough of a face to be left alone.

Anyway, who is this you may ask? I recognized the face immediately as that of Amy Sedaris from "Strangers with Candy." That is when I learned her name too. I remember the student teacher catching a glance at this one and trying to hold in her laugh.

I dunno why but I love this ugly piece. Probably from the shading of the cross hatch on the clothes and the lines in the hair. Its kinda trippy to me but I got an excellent grade. Drawn in 2006.
