My final piece for Ceramic Sculpture in Spring 2010. And my last art project at Onondaga Community College. For this one we had to take a lump of clay and shape it into a face, preferably our own I think but that wasn't mandatory. I chose a copper paint and patina as I did with a clay mold piece last fall. I was really surprised to see only one other person paint theirs, a rust finish by the way, but I guess its because we were running pretty late with these pieces. Mine for instance was the last one to be finished and had to be fired in a separate kiln with another piece that blew up on one side, fortunately the side not facing mine. The other piece created a mess but still turned out pretty interesting.
