sometime a large concussion to the head can lead to some of the synapsis of the brain severing and shorting out. this often leads to the brain franticly trying to reconnect those wires. when that happens it can lead to memory lose.....or a complete loss of ones common sense and intelect. With parts of the brain damaged beyond repair, the person can not control his or her own thoughts, thus leading to insanity.
