Here's a test animation I did before joining a Gravity Falls MAP a while back; had to make sure I could actually animate hoomans. xD This one should have a better quality and timing than the one on tumblr.

This is how good Gravity Falls would look if it didn't have such crude-ass looking character designs. It always makes me sad that people on DeviantART can do a better job drawing and designing characters than the so-called "professionals" who are actually making these cartoons for television.
But anyway, very good job on this. I'm impressed.

Just because you don't like the art style doesn't mean it's bad. We all have different appeals. Some people like simpler things and others don't.

It's really hard to animate, Them making a entire show of episodes like how they did and plots like how they did would be really difficult to animate. Second is, The art style they did was purposely. You can dislike it, But that's just how they thought kids would like it. It was created for kids. It's actually a lucky surprise adults/Teens like it to begin with. Most kid shows actually have a graphic like that, And it's mainly loved for the plot. It doesn't matter if people could do better, Most of the stuff you're looking at is small animations or images. And as Amazing people draw their own fan art, It'd be just as hard if those people were to try and animate a entire show and pay multiple people to do voice acting, Try to think of amazing plots, give huge backstories to every character, AND have to try and animate it. You shouldn't judge Gravity Falls by its art style, None of us could do better.

Gravity Falls just has a bad art style. Meanwhile, Phineas and Ferb is just as recent and has a much more appealing art style. There is no excuse for any cartoonist to not want to put out visually appealing cartoons on television if they truly know what they're doing. And I'm mostly saying that about a lot of the ones over at Cartoon Network today, who are putting out a lot of the crudest looking shit I've ever seen.

Its really hard to animate, as I already said. As multiple shows attempt to do a great story, and great graphic some are in styles certain people like. You can dislike the style but that doesn't mean its strait out awful because you have a different opinion against it. Plus, It seems you ignored all my other posts, such as:
1) Its created for kids, and I know tons of kids who like the show. Its not created for adult or teens. And its amazing that it achieves people of older age then what they're going for to like it at all.
2) They have to spend a lot of money to animate, and As I said, You're only looking at fanart and animations that are probably only a few minutes long. I mean, As if we could do better. Its hard just to animate entire series of episodes just to begin with.
3) Besides art style, they have to work really hard to work on backstories, plots, main idea's, villains, background characters, backgrounds, Voices, main characters, likeable personalities, references, Stuff adults/teens would like, and stuff kids would like at the same time. Its hard to focus on everything, and as if we could do any better either.

1) Even kids deserve to see better cartooning.
2) It shouldn't cost a single cartoonist anything just to have a good art style for their cartoons.
3) Any other creative aspects of an animated cartoon should never be made an excuse to constantly justify why so much modern 2D animation on television has to look so bad.
And maybe I am ignoring your posts, since you just seem to be saying the same stuff over and over.

Don't undermine the animation they did dude, it takes months to make episodes of shows like that. Its alot more work and a larger process than what you think.
