Description Aggggggeeeesss ago a friend of mine managed to get me a little bit of sculpey. I think it was a year or two ago, and I set about making a Morbi head. I then stopped and never did anything more until a few days ago, I'd done the head and neck, but nothing else, and all the sculpey was absolutly covered in dust. So a few days ago I picked it up and decided to do more work on it, I smoothed out some bits of the face, and made shoulders. It's not as easy as it sounds, the bits of sculpey being added didn't want to stick to the other bits, so I used sewing pins to pin them in place. I also made ears, and then puzzled about what to do with the hair, since I'd run out of sculpey (and I know no shops around here that sell it).

In the end, I remembered how nice dolls hair is, I searched for any old dolls or my little ponys, but alas, I'd thrown any I'd had out long ago. Instead, I bought myself a cheap doll for about $3. It was good in that the head came off a lot easier than any more expensive doll, and was made of softer rubber. It was bad in that the hair was only sewn into the edges with one line around the upper section of the head, meaning she had a big bald spot if you pulled her hair back...

Still, I scalped the doll, and set about attatching the hair to my Morbi. To do this I had to cut into her head and make sure the piece would fit, I then superglued it on, and used pins to keep it in place. After that I painted her skin, coloured her hair using felts, and painted the rest of her markings and eyes etc. The eyes I think turned out a little too small.

With the hair style I had to come up with a way to cover the bald spot, so I plaited some of it and pinned it in place, in one bit I pinned the back line of hair up with a cut paperclip, so that it could cover most of the bald spot, pinned plaits (braids) doing the rest of the job. Anndd, then I pinned the clothing on.

And yes, her expression is meant to be lopsided, unfortunatly she looks better side-on than front on, but then I do always like and concentrate on side views more.
