Description
I did this quite a while ago, but its one of my most recent drawings scanned.Pretty much a test drawing, testing out a different style of eyes, lips, hair.
The main point though with the colouring, was testing new ways of colouring for me, like the green thing, and her skin (I usually only have 3 layers, these all used a lot more).
I also played around with the inking a bit.
So this picture wasn't really made to look good or right, just to test a lot of things.
Scan date: 23/04/2005.

again, another gorgeous pic. your computer-coloring skills totally stun me. the hues are rich without making my eyes bleed, the shading is dramatic and still leaves room for detail.
i don't have much to say about this except that i think it's PERFECT. woo!

It's difficult to take large fields of white space and color them in a convincing manner. Doing so is rather like making a second drawing on top of your first. It looks like you're doing a good job here, but the blaze of light on the lower right seems too fat; it might work better if it were made into a series of parallel vertical spikes. Also, the sweater looks as if it is something foreign that has been physically pasted onto the surface of the picture. It doesn't blend in well with its surroundings, and it has a distractingly laminated quality to it. The white area needs to be broken up a bit. Since it seems as if the sweater is supposed to be made of a fuzzy material, the lighter areas that correspond to thready peaks in the material would display a more stippled quality.
As an experiment, or as something to refer to in developing and perfecting your own coloring technique, the picture should prove to be worthwhile. I hope you've made yourself a hard copy of it, since it's classified as a digital work.
