Love the tray area! Though the window borders and caption buttons look a little too classic instead of Metro.

That concept is nice, but please no more menus on Explorer. Ribbon is great, get used to that.
Also, address bar in the bottom makes no sense.

This'd be an interesting skin, but Microsoft has already revealed the "Windows Next [9 development project]" general UI design, and it's essentially the same thing as Windows 8 with a few additions (like a start menue). With a little reorganization, the style of this would work well touch, though.
I DO like the idea of integrating associated Windows Phone information as live-tile style information hubs, too!

The Start Menu will have live tiles by default. Put the Ribbon back on Explorer, and I think you'll be close to what the actual release will look like.

I actually think that the live tiles button idea is actually great. It would rapidly reduce the clutter on the Start Menu.

How are the Live Tiles creating clutter? Hiding them away defeats the purpose. They're meant to be front and center.

Well, in a way, it makes it more simpler and reduces the size of the menu so then it can not really get in the way of the screen. I would of thought though that they could also add the function to toggle this function.

Also, there are rumored to be live tiles on the taskbar as well. The taskbar sounds like it's getting a makeover for "Threshold".
