Of course, sorry for the late reply. 3rd pic on bottom: cut a new piece of string and knot a circle around the so far knotted piece - don't use the inserted string to knot on later with. Do the same with other new strings for the other rounds, after this ignore all of the inserted strings and continue with the pattern part. Notice: You can also leave this part out as I did in this variation of the pouch and continue straight away with the pattern:

Is there a way you could make it easier to understand the 2nd-4th boxes? I don't see how it's supposed to work... Beautiful project, by the way! Mine is turning out lovely!

izzyas22 In reply to nimuae [2013-02-13 18:53:40 +0000 UTC]

Well I'm confused by the part where you get to making the plaid pattern like do you add more strings to the flower or do you use the existing ones because I was trying to look very carefully at what you were doing but I could seem to figure it out

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nimuae In reply to izzyas22 [2013-02-13 19:18:08 +0000 UTC]

Oh no, I don't add any new strings for this step, just use the ones already inserted

What sorting do I start with and end with ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nimuae In reply to izzyas22 [2013-02-13 19:37:40 +0000 UTC]

no special sorting, start just the way the strings are, start in the middle and work row by row or diagonally and try to finish the fill of the space between the leaves with a round edge, so that you just leave auto some knots left and right.

I'm not understanding how the 2nd picture to about the 5th one down work with those knots. I've tried a bunch and I must be making a stupid mistake each time. Could you explain those a little, cause I am using different colors too which adds to confusion.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nimuae In reply to Mknotek [2012-10-20 19:02:20 +0000 UTC]

It just works like a plaid pattern like this: [link] - every first row is made of forward knots, every 2nd row is made of backward knots. I hope this could help you

SeeTup [2012-09-28 07:14:03 +0000 UTC]

I want to make this, but I don't quite understand what is going on in the 3rd to last frame (or the 9th frame from the top). Could you explain please?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nimuae In reply to SeeTup [2012-09-28 12:33:38 +0000 UTC]

Okay, this is the part where you insert new strings for every round. This is the last knot of such a round and it shows how to knot over 2 strings (the last one of the round and the top end of the new dark blue inserted string). This is a way to close the round easily. If you don't do this, there might be a gap on one side of the pouch. Hope you can understand what I mean...my english is a mess...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nimuae In reply to ShallowFool [2012-08-02 17:40:34 +0000 UTC]

Hey, Peyton!
You should try it! It's not that difficult. Try it with less colour/thread and less leaf on the "flower"... I think it can be done

THIS IS AMAZING! Gah. *deep breath*

Sorry, I've seen stuff like this at markets but never knew how the hell they were made ... and now I do. Hmm, might have to try and make something like this ... about how long did it take you to get to this point in the pouch? Looks time consuming.

nimuae In reply to 7Caramel13 [2012-07-22 12:55:45 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!
This took me about one week, but the whole pouch might take me one month (and I don't have the time at present...so it might take me even longer).
