AHA THIS BOX IS BEAUTIFUL I LOVE THIS BOX I'M A BORN PROP ARTISTahem, here is a box. I took an idea I found i.pinimg.com/736x/a8/d3/c9/a8d… full credit for the idea goes to Nicoletti, and as a practice I wanted to paint it myself and it turned out amazing with the dramatic light and all. (but I feel like a box is so common in games it wasn't really an idea, everyone draws a box like this at some point, but still credit is credit)
I'm going to use this format now for my practice and sketches, with no writing or references, because it's so much easier to view. Hope you like it and let me know what you enjoy seeing from me!
PS. Any artists, if you can see any mistakes in my box please let me know on how I can improve it! I'll greatly appreciate it. This is supposed to be like a concept for a game so composition or background is not extremely relevant. Thanks!

the render came out really nice along with the lighting, the only thing to point out is that the box looks skewed.. or it's the angle I assume with the ground.
As for the nails. a little too much on top, it's fine to keep it simple like two nails on the top and bottom of each plank of wood. If you add too much, may look messy, if the nails were out of placed and hammered wrong to note that some crafter tried to make it a box but instead he finely decorated it with a bunch of nails. These are my thoughts of course but I hope my input helps!

hmm, I'm not really sure what you mean by skewed, could you explain? I made all vertical lines at a 90 degree angle, but the rest was freehand, so I can see how the top piece is slightly askew.
And yeah I agree about the nails! I should have put more though and story into it. The original ref I was following also had a ridiculous amount of nails: i.pinimg.com/736x/a8/d3/c9/a8d… so I was kind of thinking the same thing, 2 nails for each plank to make it sturdy, but it looks overdone haha

Its most likely the top of the box. I believe that's what it is. as for the nails, its always fine to make it more original and accurate to your own than to the reference. I still feel like they put too much nails on their box haha
