Dude, that's not yours. You didn't paint it. I don't need Google to know that that's Kekai Kotaki's. Are you telling me that you stole one of the MOST well known Concept Artist's in the gaming industry and tried to get away with it? Really?

It doesn't matter. YOU didn't create the base image. All you did was edit Kekai's work. That's riding another person's tailcoat. If you don't have permission to edit and change that person's artwork, then don't touch it. It's the basic art rule of "Look, but don't touch."
I mean, you don't honestly go around stealing other people's cars, spray paint it blue and then claim that, since you spray painted it and customized it, it's now yours? No, it's still their car and not yours. Same here, you merely edited another person's artwork, but it's not your creation. In all technicality, it's STILL Kekai Kotaki's. You just added effects and edits on it. That's it. I'm a manipulator, but you don't see a single piece of work in my gallery that's not stock image. If the owner doesn't say that I can use it, I don't touch it. I appreciate their work, but I don't lay a hand on it. This is common courtesy. You don't touch a stranger's stuff without permission, do you? No, I hope you don't.
And yes, I did read the description. "You found good resources..." Dude, it's not a free-for-all. It's owned by someone who worked hours to create this piece of art.

u went too far...way too far..
wtf how u compare it to stealing a car and paint it?! that's even not close..
and your'e right,
you said "YOU didn't create the base image" = true..thats what I said.
"All you did was edit kekai's work" = true..
so..whats the problem here? how u got to steal? u can right now go anywhere entire the world wide web and blame people for taking pictures and edit them to something else..as an inspiration.
I do this for an inspire..
how many people u saw until this day drawing "GOD OF WAR" pictures and draws for example?! are they stealing? or they just want create something similar? not stealing..they just like what their see so they are trying to do it too.

No, I didn't go to far. It's the same aspect of stealing another person's property. It's funny how some people, when they're on the internet, suddenly grow bolder and find that stealing art in the real world is totally different from stealing art over the internet. You have no idea how much it hurts to see your artwork taken by another person, modified and edited away from your original intent. I had my work stolen, and it pisses me off to no end. It pisses me off even more when I find out that, not only had they stolen my image months ago, but I that I can only report them instead of really cracking down on them.
So, it's wrong for a person to steal another person's item in the real world, but it's all fine and dandy to steal people's stuff over the internet? Really? REALLY? Because everyone get's in a tiff when their purse is stolen or when their cellphone or binder is stolen, but no one thinks twice about stealing artwork over the internet.
Yes, there are many people stealing other people's work, but I saw YOUR work. Just because other people do the same thing doesn't mean you should too. Go ahead, lower yourself by stealing from other people and then run around and say that, because other people do it, that it's alright for you to do it too. If it inspires you, instead of stealing another person's work, draw your own, find stock images to make your own. Why? Because then you won't look like a thief trying to riding get the glory from someone else. You created your own work and you can take more pride in it. I get inspired by things to, but I don't steal another person's artwork to show my inspiration, I go and draw my own interpretation of it.
There is a HUGE difference between drawing fanart and stealing another person's artwork. That's not to say that Kekai Kotaki WORKS for Arenanet and creates their concept artwork for Guild Wars. That's right, that image right there was specifically painted FOR Guild Wars, not for a DA user to come and STEAL his work.
Go ahead, try and justify your acts here, but it's still stealing. You didn't draw this work. No matter what you say, no matter how you want to ease your acts of stealing by saying you modified it with brushes and effects, you still STOLE Kekai's work.
So, go ahead. Think that your excuses of "other people do it" "it's inspiring" to justify your actions, but in the end it's still art theft.

You are right about the fact that this image is reserved by the copyright but the work involved a series of images to montage, still deserves respect.
About NIR usually it always respects the works of artists and I suppose if he took this picture is because it matched the rest of the project and he did not find anything better.
Finally it does not pretend to paint this picture because this picture themselves find well in photomanipulation catΓ©gories.
Now if he wants to talk about himself.
(Sorry for my english..)
Greetings!

Stealing is still stealing and an excuse that it works with his project doesn't cut it. Someone worked hard on this digital painting, and for another person to google it and take it within two minutes is wrong, no matter what your intentions are. It's like me "borrowing" your car because you happened to park it in your driveway, and because it's in your driveway it's fair game.
No, NIR didn't paint it. Kekai Kotaki digitally painted it himself and worked hard on it. All NIR did was add a couple of manipulation effects, rode on another person's tailcoat to get praise. If he wants to get praise, use stock images. If he can't find the stock image he wants, make one himself, but don't steal another person's artwork, especially if it's copyrighted to a big video game industry. Arenanet DOES own this digital painting as well as Kekai Kotaki.

I understand your point of view and it is more than defensible, but I prefer to keep an open mind.
Good continuation to you.
