"Tu saboreas bueno!" means 'You taste good!'Theres my Aztec vampire once more- Tlaloc. This is 600 years back, when the spanish conquistadors first came poking around. If you know your history, you know the Aztecs thought the spaniards were monsters, so thats what I'm refering to in the text up top. Tlaloc got jumped by a conquistador, Cesario Romero- as depicted above.
As the story goes, Tlaloc was going to be sacrificed to Quezecoatal, and Cesario heard about it, in one way, or another. What a perfect person to munch? He could snack, and no one would believe anything the victim said because hey, what WOULDN'T you say when faced with death? As it goes, Cesario changed his mind, and turned the aztec instead, saving his life.
Tlaloc atributes his new imortality to Quezecoatal rather then Cesario. In the edn though, Cesario takes Tlaloc home with him, to meet his vampire-chick-girlfriend Ince. Since Cesario doesn't speak Aztec, and Tlaloc doesn't know a lick of spanish, there were some awkward moments. Ince made sure Tlaloc learned though, and its history from there.
This could probably use a full view. FULLLLLL VIIIIEEEW PLEASE! Thankya!
Some other details... I know Cesario looks like a chick, thats because I initialy wanted him to BE a chick, but I wasn't sure if it was even remotely logical to have a female spaniard (other then the actual translator, who was indian) traveling with the conquistadors. Turns out, no. So there you go, I made her a him, and I'm actualy very happy with it. Now, I know Tlaloc looks like a bloody stick, but he's rather startled that some fellow just grabbed him, and shoved him into a wall, then started chewing on his neck. So this is the initial "WTF?" moment before he started thrashing.
Last point... The clothing is resonably acurate, and I'm very proud of that. It was painful to draw Tlaloc in a skirt (because I looove pants- hell its painful to draw GIRLS in skirts, guys are even worse XD). Cesario's costume is what conquistadors wear under their armor- helped me find that. She also helped me with the spanish! THAAAANK YOU MARYANNE! And thanks to for supplying paper and pencil. You guys rock. =3

Actually, there was one female Spaniard who traveled with Cortes. I think her name was Maria de Estrada.

Awesome, and thank you for telling me. I definitely don't know much about the topic now, and I'm sure my understanding was pretty shallow the almost 10 years ago when I was working on it. I kind of shudder looking back on stuff like this now-a-days. X3

I /think/ its still alright that that's his name, though I wouldn't have named him that if I'd known it at the time. I was looking through a list of aztec names. It was a silly mistake, but I'm attached to the name, and the only other options at the time didn't suit him.

Ah, the blue eyes were purposeful. he's that way for two reasons- 1. blue eyes stand out REALLY nicely against his dark hair and skin, 2. I wanted some physical asociation with Quetzalcoatle and him, since Que is his main god of worship.
Its not there for any magical, or practical reason though. Just me, taking artistic liberties. =3
