Description
This piece was inspired by an odd dream of mine.As an emissary of Ganondorf, I was setting traps and locking treasures away in each temple, following the destruction of the area's guardian. So as I was inside this temple, Link approached me from behind, on a rope bridge. When we faced, I knew who he was. I'd been warned of him.
I drew my weapon, and so did he. He didn't charge; he was only looking at me, waiting. So I attacked instead, and we clashed blades again and again. His sword brushed my face and left a gash, and I stumbled away. I felt my heel press down on the trip I'd set only moments before Link had appeared. I knew I was done for, so I didn't move. Link didn't either. Instead of staying still, forever, I decided to test my chances. I leaped back, but the hidden blade swung down anyway, and severed the bridge. The second blade struck me and sent me downward, to the floor below.
I fell into the water, losing my sword in the process. When I finally managed to drag myself back onto land and to a rock to rest, Link found his way to the first floor. He came in, blade still drawn, and just looked at me. All he had to do was either wait for me to die, or just finish me off. I was a goner either way.
Then, Link sheathed his blade and took out a bottle. It was glowing pink, and I knew what was in there. I stared him down and warned him back. My failure to Lord Ganon would be worse than this death of mine. Link would not be helping me in this.
He came toward me anyway, eyes set on me, holding that damned bottle.
I had tried to kill him only moments before. What was wrong with him? This speechless, so-called 'hero of time' seemed completely devoid of all common sense. People didn't save the enemies who were trying to kill them. Nobody did that.
Link was, of course, the exception.
