Biography: Penny Gardner was born to two loving parents, as she was among six children. She was also the second child to be born, as she has a older brother, three younger brothers, and one younger sister. Her mother stayed at home while her father worked. Penny also loves all of her siblings, and she would play with them as she grew up. She also liked to play soccer, which she is very good at. She also became good at coding and programming when it came to computer software. She made plenty of friends throughout her life. She became best friends with Bethany Bowman, a female Mobian raccoon who would eventually get a boyfriend named Elliot Porter, a male Mobian fox. She even became friends with Jennifer Campbell, a female Mobian wolf. In 3237, Jennifer went through some mental struggles due to a tragedy in her family. Penny was of course there for her in those tough times. Penny was bullied by some popular girls at her high school due to how she was "different". When they tripped Penny, Jennifer screamed at them and even shoved them, and Penny was very grateful for Jennifer defending her. Penny had feelings for Jennifer, and when Jennifer told her that she loved her, Penny told her the same, and they shared their first kiss. Penny went to the same college as most of her best friends, while Jennifer went to the police academy. One day in 3240, Jennifer disappeared along with some of her other friends. When they came back, they told Penny something had happened to them, and they didn't want to go into too much detail. In 3241, she noticed strange robots going around advertising some game. She remembered Jennifer and Elliot saying something about robots and some strange competition, and when she went to one of the robots about the competition. Penny wasn't sure at first about joining the competition, but after she heard that an orphanage was in serious need of help with their financial and foundational issues, she decided to join this competition, and she of course let her mother know about it before she would leave. This was of course the second Hex Games . She would then be picked up by a ship, where she and other people with her were gassed. She woke up in a big room among 960 people. She found her best friend Bethany Bowman there too, as she joined out of curiosity. Penny was given the player number 632. Bethany was given the player number 960, which means she was the last person to be registered. They would have to play a series of deadly games, which meant they would die if they lost. In the end, Bethany and Penny survived the games along with two others. When Penny was dropped off, she was shaken with what happened, but she knew that the money would still help the orphanage out, and could prevent the children from starving to death. When Jennifer confronted her about her disappearance, she looked worried. Penny told her about the competition, and apologized to her for not letting her know about the competition earlier. Jennifer then apologized to Penny for not warning her about the competition in the first place, but Jennifer was also happy to learn that the orphanage she once lived at was saved. They both knew the games would have to be stopped someday.
