I can see a story just from looking at this picture.  To me, it's a gesture of kindness to a wound either physically or emotionally.  To someone else it may be something entirely different though.

Ohh, that is lovely! Your work on the light through the feathers is very effective, as is the cloud sky background. Of course your fine detail work on the head of the gryphon in particular helps draw the eye there, and to its expression. However, that does leave some of the rest of the piece under-detailed. The woman's cloak in particular, needs sharpness, some detail, or it just goes to  murkiness. If you can, I would say show a little more of her face, as she is looking right at the detailed eye of the gryphon. Part of the right wing could also use some more definition, shadows, to help frame the center of attention.
Just my thoughts.
