As I remember there's not manyΒ known powered armor in the Robotech / Macross series. But maybe I'm wrong though.

Not in Macross or the part of robotech based on that, but I think the other two parts (Based on shows in no way related to Macross) had some power armor.
Well, Macross Frontier had a sort of power armor, but it was definitely nothing like this.
Edit: Yeah, that power armor that transforms into a motorcycle. Thought I remembered something like that. Didn't notice the reply when I first commented though.

It's supposed to be a regular non-militaristic armor (well almost), but yeah it's also heavy and cumbersome as well. The idea is kinda to mix and match I guess.
