Description
Juvenile inmates are typically housed in designated wings of low and medium security correctional facilities. They are under a similar security regime to low security inmates with an emphasis on controlling contraband and obedience. Most inmates are housed there until they reach maturity at which point their case and behaviour will be reviewed. Serious crimes will mostly result in a transfer to the adult wing regardless while those with minor charges and significant positive change will be released on parole. Violent inmates are immediately transferred to adult facilities that have more suitable security protocols in place to ensure the safety of staff and other inmates.
With good behaviour, juvenile inmates may be permitted to return home for 2 days a month. During this time, they must be fitted with prison issued stun cuffs, tracking collar, and chastity belt.
