Description Lately, I have received several questions on how I make whip marks. I have decided to make a small tutorial to explain my technique.

I do them in postwork in Photoshop, so this is a little technical in this software (sorry). But I am sure that other similar software will have similar commands.

Another way would be to paint them in the textures of the model, rather than in postwork, which has the benefit of "moving" with the character, but you need to work around the seams of the UV maps. As I normally do only one picture with a render, postwork is more handy for my objective.

Hope that helps!

Comments welcome! I am always looking to improve my techniques.

And thank you for your support and favorites.

There's nothing like a good bondage spanking! Good work here.

Great instructions.Β

I have normally been doing painting on the texture, but as you say, seams and lck of straight lines is a problem.

Just one more hint: When choosing the colour of the bruise, I have found the pipette useful - and picked a colour from somewhere existing on the texture, which is darker and redder colour (like areolas)

I have only one remark ... The real tracks look a little different.
For example, if the "tool" was soft, then the ends of the tracks, as a rule, are brighter.

You are welcome.
And by the way. It is a good idea - to draw traces after rendering.
Β Since when working with the UV-card there are problems and in addition to the seams.

Why don't add the marks to texture instead of post working?

Sometimes I do it this way. It has the benefit of "moving" with the figure as well.

However I find it easier to apply the marks in the right position and angle in post work, and also I am not worried about seams this way.

I normally do a single still from a render however ...

Very nice instructional, shame I don't have photoshop. Much more realistic then what I create.

Very good tutorial. I know the basics about this, but have never tried it--I'm too lazy to create something from scratch.Β When I need whipmarks, I usually seek out some ready-made ones (from places like mood-pictures.com) and superimpose them on the characters. A lazy bone's shortcut, I guess.

Yes, it is a technique that I used as well from time to time. Works well too, though gives maybe a little less flexibility.

True...just like everything else I do, it's all dictated by what I can find as raw materials.
