I use a tablet, but if you have issues with straight lines
using the line tool and curve tool can help a lot.

So ironically enough, I have to make a comic for my university class in college (only 2 pages), but I figured I'd ask you some questions since you've been doing this longer than me. How close should my panel borders be to the edge of the pages when using Manga Studio? I feel like the program cluster the panels to the center of the page. And can you explain more about raster and vector layers? Basically the ins and outs and the differences.

The margins are important
when it comes to printing.
If it's to remain digital
it doesn't really matter.
If you're printing, you want
to give enough space so your work doesn't have awkward cuts, the image bleeds into the margin and the excess is cut off. So basically, the
margins are what is cut off
in printing, so don't put anything important there.
That's for images that stretch to the edge of
the page.

But you want
to pay more attention to
the document size.
My comics tend to be
7.5x5 so I make my file
15x10 with 600 dpi.
(Then I open it in
Photoshop and shrink it
to 7.5x5)
This is so when it is
printed, it won't be pixelated.
I start out with the
1 panel template and use
The tools to cut and
Manipulate it to my needs.

Raster is resolution dependent, so too much manipulation, like scaling can
make it pixelated. Vector
is resolution independent so
You can manipulate it however and there will be
no issues, it'll remain clean. That is the basic
difference.

My professor is importing them digitally, but they will then be printed out and fitted to a book. I'm assuming the pages will be regular copy paper size. 8x11, I think.

Would the margin be that 1st blue line on the template? Or the second?

Margin is the space between the edge of the image and
the edge of the file page.
So if the actual comic will be 8x11 and
the file size is 9x12 the inch between the
content and edge of the page is the magin.

Content is inner rectangle
Margin is area outside the inner rectangle


Since your sending it off to someone and
not in control, have a bleed around the file, about
an inch and make sure to not have anything important
in the margin. and mark the bleed area, like, (one inch margin)
You can also add crop marks to let the printer know
where they can cut. 
Put crop marks in the margin and not on the
comic itself.

Standard manga is A4 or B6
So it fits in a 5.5x7 book.

I make my color comics about 8.5x11, same as my
non print black and white.

In manga studio It's a good idea to make files 600 dpi or larger.

For color or in sai or Photoshop, 300 dpi should be fine. ^^

another swimming anime coming out called Dive!! but I don't know when

Yeah, I've been mostly watching anime on crunchyroll. I know of a couple of other
sites that show anime legally but they don't have a lot. I haven't bought any anime in a long
time lol XD

Kissanime used to be good before the ads got bad. They have a lot but I don't trust the ads cause
there is always a pop up one that I'm pretty sure brings you to a virus XD

them then I go to other sites XD
I only buy if I really want it and if I have enough money XD

Yeah, they really should do that, and they should post the
opening and ending themes too instead of taking them down or
muting the music. Then people would be less likely to upload them
without permission.

I thought JustDubs was dead lol. Last time I went to their site it brought me to somewhere else and 
windows popped up saying my computer had a virus. I just did ctrl alt delete and closed the browser with
the task manager. I wasn't going to click on nothing XD
