So, a second go at Rowe. I kept looking for a good ref. pic, and finally I ended with the same one ~iamfergie has used (and done a lovely job with!). Only I decided to not crop it, because I thought the pose really brought out a certain "feel" of the subject.I've discovered dirt is hard to draw. At least for me anyway.
I think maybe it's because I draw too soft, with too much blending and not enough definition. I run into that problem often.
But anyway, I was not too disappointed in this one, although I know it could have been better.
All pencil.

Sure thing, for the darkest part I used an 8B and Q-tip.

That show alongside Stargate reruns constitutes all the TV I can watch without wincing. Well drawn indeed.

Great work! This piece really inspired me to try my own hand at drawing Rowe, and the result seems sort of sub-par, but that's because I unintentionally keep comparing to this piece.
The shading is so well done, it truly gives a solid appearance of depth, like mostly on the elbows, which give the best example.
I like how he expresses a very meek state of feeling, with a wry smile.

Hey, it's Mr. Mike! At his dirtiest, I see. You're right, dirt is WICKED hard to draw. You wouldn't think so. But you did great! What kind of pencil did you use? Also, thanks for saying I did a lovely job, even though I don't agree!

I know I couldn't do it....no way, no how, couldn't pay me enough. (And plus, he has to touch things like fish, and snakes and worms...and ewwwww. Sorry just got that chill thing in my spine.) I couldn't do that show, cause no one would watch a guy passing out the first time he cut a fish open. (Wait, maybe they would...hmmm...I should call Comedy Central for that one.....)
