It's a process called stippling- basicaly, you put a ton of dots to make it look dark.

It's a pen and ink technique called 'stippling' or 'poitalism' where you trick the eye into thinking the picture is three dimensional by increasing the consistancy of dots in a given area. Basicaly, the more dots, the darker it is.

I used two- ball point and dip pens... I would only have used one, but I kept loosing them...
