Let me explain how it works
The hexagram in the center will take the carbon from the air and the iron from the earth or from around. The reason the deffining lines (the extra lines to display the repressented element) are extending outside the array is to take the elements from outside the array, yet keep the reaction stable both in and out of the array. Thats why we have the triangle outside one array, but in another.
Now the elements will build within the array until they reach the number for steel (98 iron, 2 carbon). This will create strong steel in high grade. Once the quota is met, the begin to mix.
Once mixing begins, the elements are heated, but still kept slightly cool by air so you dont burn yourself as the steel is being built. It will build outside the array above the palm of your hand.

NOTE: There are many ways to do this both in design and through chemical reactions. It would be possible to fuse everything through electricity flowing in your body that is focussed in the array. Small stuff like this can really make or break the array. Make it your own. Make it specail.
