Your feather paintings are real nice. I read that you spray them with laquer once done, but how long do you think the painting can last ? Same as acrylic on paper, you would guess ?

All your feather paintings are so beautiful.. Though I want to ask, what type of feathers do you use? I mean, from what birds? I'm guessing they're fairly good sized, as they look like wing feathers, but I'm no bird expert.. But the amount of detail you're able to create on such a small area is amazing!

Your feather paintings are amazing.. how hard is it, really? And is there any special way you have to paint them, because won't the individual pieces/strands of the feather break apart when you try to paint it? I'm just so curious, and it would be an idea I'd be willing to explore myself. ^^

Yeah actually...it's pretty easy. If you can handle the painting medium on any other surface, feather's aren't too much different. The tricks are as follows: Get a BIG arse feather, spray the whole thing with a can of spray paint (your base background color! or, if you want to leave it natural, use clear)... that's the trick to keeping the little splits away! :} Then once it's dry, tape that sucker down all along the edges to a board... that holds it still and keeps it flat.. and then use acrylic paints. Oh, and when you're done, go over it with the clear spray laquer again.. it seals everything up (keeps the paint from trying to flake or peel off) and it brings out the color and the luminosity of the acrylics. tada!

Wow, that does sound easy. I was imagining a way harder process. XD Thank you so much, I so gotta try that out!
