)For once in a big while, I am requesting a critique/ helpful comments. I don't really feel confident about the little ghosts/flares, but I didn't like the picture without them either... Also, I have tried a new shading type. Am I doing it right?

I really like the little flare ghosts, they remind me of the Pyreflies of FFX, and add a lot of movement to the composition. The moon is great, and my favorite part are the ripples and folds of her sleeves, wich seem very hard to achieve due to it being 100% shading power (because of the sky texture on them), but you nailed it.
I notice just one small, shall we say, physics mistake. Assuming her foot is touching the water (because of the ripples), the reflection should be touching the foot, not so far apart. It's minimum, i know, and im just being a pussy, but i thought i should help on this otherwise perfect piece!

Oh, I do know I could have drawn the feet touching the reflection, but it wasn't really my intention, as if the presence of the girl was disturbing the water surface even before it touched it, probably because of the wind she created while flying...

Beautiful. The picture would definitely be lacking without the little ghost things. It was a good call to leave them in there. The lighting and the hair are well done. I also like the added detail of an ornate fence in the background and the ripples in the water where her foot is touching.
The main thing I would focus on is the facial expression. She seems to have a bland expression at the moment. Also, I know the arms are supposed to blend into the stream of sparkle behind her, but it would probably look better if she had arms that were more visible, whether behind the sparkles or not. On the whole, very beautiful.

The flare critters are good too. My main criticism would be the face. The nose is too low, and I'm not sure about the expression.

I duuno, sometimes I take layers out and it all falls into place, it's mostly accidental xDD
It does come out better when I plan the whole picture first instead of the character and then the background... it's that composition thing I guess!

I think it's just a matter of practice and inspiration... It takes some time to understand such a subjective thing, but seeing conceptual art helps a lot!
