Hi there, I'm a graphic novel artist, I was wondering if you're okay with using photos as pose reference for drawing (not traced), which may appear in published works at some point, and whether I need to pay for that. Thanks!

Sorry if I you have to repeat yourself in the answer to my question, just saying this advance. But, I was wondering if I would be able to trace one of your stock photos for a OC (Original character), I am unsure if this would go in the 'doll body/base' rule. But I just wanted to make sure, and if I am able to trace,said stock, I would fully credit you. I understand if you would not want your work trace also.Β

You are more than welcome to use my stock/trace to create a character as long as you follow the rest of my rules
The dolls/bases thing is different, then they get passed on again and tradec over/added to by other people and crediting/keeping track of it would be impossible.

man I wish you had a street corner background stock. I am trying to finish a painting if a detective
but I cant find a proper background to refference perspective for. I dound another and it will take me days XD
see I need to fitΒ this image with the cartoon I am refferencing. ( I used four images of a comedian to make it)
Β I have a few ideas 
its the wrong angle XD this happens alot, still I dunno what to do with the image since it is a very strong subject and
I am afraid they wont allow me to post, so I need an angle I can do it with properly that I dont get the image flagged
and still apt for generl viewing while keeping with the story the way it is. not my fault mythology gets weird XD

saves you reposts and effort, people ask me to use my stuff for books
on notes with out hassle too. so I put it in my gallery folder and outsode of it in the front page description and the outsdide gallery description
plus you ca make subfolders with core.

On DA if you put :dev.........:Β Β or :icon........:Β Β Β with the username instead of theΒ Β .......... it will come out like soΒ Β Β Null-Entity Β Β Β or KevinMassey Β It's a way of linking to used/used for crediting etc.
And it even comes up in the persons notifications if they are mentioned like this in a deviantion/comment/forum etc.

I do count the use of my stock for pose reference/character bases as a stock use.. so they come under commercial rules as well.

Okay! It's basically illustrations for a book of fairytales that will be sold in a museum shop. Probably a fairly small distribution, though I don't know yet exactly how we'll publish it (who knows, it might go on the market). I would use your stock as pose references, so the faces would be different, I might change the placement of the hands or feet or something, and the clothing would be different, too (Ancient Egypt, as a matter of fact.) So far, the prospects of me actually getting paid for this look slim, but you never know... Sorry I can't be more precise.

Kind words Thankyou but no I have not considered putting my stock anywhere other than DA.
Mostly because it would complicate any control of my work/images and for commercial work balancing any fee's across all sites.
Secondly I stock as more of a hobby (and the intention is there for it to be semi drive by cosplay as well) so I don't look at it as
a means for any income, I hope at best it will become self sustaining with stock payments/fees paying for props etc.
As for your question : Painting/Collage etc is a single use stock fee (Typically Β£3-4).
I am a little unsure what you mean by stencil.

I have a question about using your stock for pixel bases/art - can I trace that actual image (pose) as lineart for my pixel work? I'm guessing since photomanip is okay that's okay too, and I will not be be making money from it, but wanted to check first. Thanks!
