be proud of me:
I had the pomegranate
boy, and I swallowed
him down with red teeth,
the perfect cannibal of air
and everything which
made his organs strike twelve
and bloom into the most
bloody serenade.

That's actually a great project idea! I'll admit my Greek mythology needs some work, so I'll probably have to hit the books a bit. Then, if something comes out of it, I'll post it. If anything, it's a nice exercise in discipline!

Sometimes things that touch us do not so so in a happy way. But it is important to cherish the less pretty feelings as well. If a poem can evoke them, it does a great job, don't you think?

I think you stated it quite perfectly! I think it's actually vital we come to learn how to embrace even our ugly sides. We are not all good, just as we are not all bad, and we must embrace both sides in ourselves, in my opinion, to truly find balance and contentment. Otherwise, it's just putting our hands over our eyes to pretend the other side doesn't exist, and pretending only works for so long.
