I couldn't believe it myself - this is the original shot, no editing except resizing it for the web. I have the original NEF file of my Nikon to prove it to myself.

This somehow happened when taking pictures of a raven. I shot it in bright sunlight against the dark green of the grass it was hopping around on. Then it took a short stroll on the bright sandy path of the park. Obviously the contrast of black bird and nearly white sand was to much for the camera - luckily resulting in this odd shot resembling a watercolour sketch.

Wish I could create these effects on purpose. I guess next time I'll have to go back using The Gimp again...
