Description "My heart's a broken arrow
which has lost its will to fly
Never more is it reaching
out to touch the sky."

This is my big mystery project. I might redo the background sometime, but it's sort of nice being so very watercolor-like. I especially like how the little bitty mountains turned out. The hair and the wings on the angel just had me stunned as I was doing this. I worked so hard. I've worked on it off and on for about half a month now. It's completely done from scratch with my tablet and photoshop. I did the poem myself as well. Hope you guys like it!

Lovely image. The wings are quite amazing. I think you've got a great series of graduations in the sky. The figure also has excellent grades of shading.

It was really hard to do the shading. I've always wanted to be able to do the soft gradations, but have never been able to do it. The cel-shading variety has worked for me before, but I think this is my most successful piece with it because the divisions between the sections are not so blunt and I tried to have other colors close to the base color.

I love the detail that you put into this picture. You really are starting to really get a handle of photoshop and your tablet. *drools*

Your angel is beautiful and well drawn and the detail of the wings and hair is simply amazing. I can see why it took you so long. I don't think you need to redo the background at all. I really like it the way it is. It's simple, but makes sense with the piece. The sunset seems to hold to the sorrowful tone of the piece, like it is an ending to something. I, however, find hope that she will open her wings and learn to fly again.

Beautiful poem as well.

As a true pessimist and because of my poem, she's not going to fly again. In any case, glad you like it and thanks for favoriting it. I enjoyed making it and now that it's up, I feel like that huge weight on my back has gone away a little bit more. Yay for putting things up!
